I also love how people post things like, "you are taught in pop warner not to do..."
You sure are, and I've still seen Manning, Aaron Rodgers, and brett Favre switch throwing hands while getting sacked and throw left handed INTs...
Those analogies of "kids learn this in pop warner so they're idiots if they do it in the NFL" should fall on def ears, hall of famers make the same dumb mistakes. Those statements should lead to readers "stopping there" when reading a post.
But here's what you don't get....
Manning, Aaron Rodgers, and Brett Favre can get away with it because they are Hall of Famers. Can you say the same about Geno Smith? They also are not complete idiots when scrambling with the ball - completely different from Geno Smith. Geno carries the football when scrambling like he's scored a million touchdowns and no one is anywhere near as good as he is. It's arrogance to the point of stupidity.
In all the others case, they would switch hands to protect the football from getting jarred loose. They also do not gamble with the protection of the football like that very often because they actually have SUCCESS being a pocket passer. They are also successful at doing more often than not.
These are all things that you cannot say about Geno Smith. Geno is NOT a hall of famer, nor will he ever be. Geno has reason to run with the football at least twice as often as any of the others due to his inability to stand in the pocket and be successful. Then, just to exacerbate the situation, he carries the ball with complete carelessness. Just begging to have it stripped by the defense. He's also not successful carrying the ball more often than not because he's forgotten football 101 principles of protecting the football.
What part of this do you not get? Or maybe you just refuse to?
What everyone is saying in this thread is the very things he needs to improve upon if for no other reason than...
HE'S NOT MANNING, RODGERS, OR FAVRE.
