Carolina Panthers wide receiver Stephen Hill was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop Tuesday in Concord, North Carolina, police records show, according to WSOC-TV and the Charlotte Observer.

Hill was cited for two misdemeanors: possession of marijuana paraphernalia and failure to wear a seatbelt.

The Panthers report to training camp Thursday. They had no comment on the citations Wednesday.

The Jets drafted the 6-foot-4 Hill in the second round in 2012, but he disappointed in New York.

He signed with Carolina last September but didn't appear in any games. Hill was expected to compete for one of the backup receiver spots behind No. 1 Kelvin Benjamin in camp.

Information from ESPN.com Panthers reporter David Newton was used in this report.

Yeah, kind of feel bad for the kid. All that talent, just couldn't play football.

He made a few bucks though

Datone Jones got 1 game for a baggie.
Since he didn't piss hot, HYATT™ assumes that will be Hill's punishment as well.
Plus, he has to go in the program and pee in the cup whenever they pop up.
Given the recent de-emphasis on weed lately, this sort of stuff probably won't even rate a suspension in another year or two.

I agree HYATT however at this point I think Hill is not worth the headache and will get cut.

I didn't even think this stiff was still in the league. One of the worst picks in Jets history and we have had many.

Right up there in line with a whole lot of very bad picks from Tanny. Vernon Gholston, Anthony Schlegel, Vlad Ducasse, Stephen Hill, Joe McKnight, etc. All of those guys were worthless and when you look at the years these guys were selected you see there's no wonder why the Jets lacked talent for so long.

2006 - Drafted Schlegel, but he was stinko.
2008 - Vernon Gholston, finally they thought they got that edge rusher the defense so badly needed. That, in the wake of the Jets signing Calvin Pace to the big bucks. So the Jets thought they had that short term guy in Pace that could be the guy for this defense until Gholston was ready to hit his stride. Instead, both Schlegel and Gholston were awful and with the exception of Pace having some success as that edge rushing linebacker, the cupboard had always been bare.

2010 - Vlad Ducasse was drafted to the heir apparent to Damien Woody. He was drafted to the Jets RT for the next 10 years. The guy was so f*cking bad, he couldn't even keep a job as a blocking TE. It was addition by subtraction when the Jets finally got rid of him. But still the Jets were missing decent RT play ever since Woody retired.

2012 - Drafted Stephen Hill because there was a realization by Tanny that he had screwed the pooch. It had been so long since Tanny added any of the necessary talent required to keep the team competitive. He was desperate and selected Stephen Hill. This guy was nothing more than track athlete and a TERRIBLE WR.

I mean it really is no wonder why the team is in such a hole these days. Mike Maccagnan needs to unf*ck what Idzik and Tanny did to screw this team for years to come.
