In other news today, Bobby Wagner got paid.

The same Bobby Wagner that the Seahawks took with the pick we traded to them to move up in the draft and take Stephen Hill.

Well, look at the bright side guys........

At least we won't need to be reminded of any more of those colossal bust picks that Tanny made. Hell, after another couple of years we won't be reminded of any of those bad picks that Idzik made.

Not to mention, Mike MacCagnan crushed his first draft and we'll look forward to seeing what's going with those players. If MacCagnan can manage to stay on the same path and continue to get talented players through the draft, pretty soon we'll be looking for the final pieces in our SB puzzle.

I know it sounds far fetched right now (and it is), but there's a very small difference between the good and bad teams in this league.

Sad for him, glad we didn't keep clinging on to his drafty promise

The Panthers are going to put Hill on Injured Reserve after he clears waivers. He was the #5 WR and playing real well until the injury.

Your right. I checked on him in the NC papers during OTA's. A lot of the scribes were talking about how he had finally turned the corner. Shame, always seemed like a good kid. Just wasn't a football player.

That's a contradiction.

The Panthers have a lack of talent at WR, let alone 4 good ones...but he's 5th on the depth chart? How can he be playing well, on a team with 1 WR, and he somehow remains the 5th best one on the team...tough to do with only 1 good one...

Nope. He's a soccer player that became a football player late in life...which is apparent every time you watch him play.

And he looked good in shorts and helmets...that means something as a WR.

people who say that about QBs are just plain stupid. QBs can never get hit in practice, so saying they look good without pads on or in practice is the dumbest thing I ever read every time someone posts it. No shit. they only get hit in 16 games, 4 preseason games, and the play-offs if they make it. You cant test a QB in anything but shorts and a helmet and or pads in a yellow jersey...

Anyway, Hill struggles with pads on, when he's allowed to get bumped, jammed, and hit...even for the Panthers when that happened, he was cut and on the practice squad. Wake me when he does it and it matters...even the Panthers havent trusted him when the lights go on....

Yeah, that's only because players never rise up the dept charts during summer camp. He has been showing signs of an improved player giving hope that he could be a #1 or #2

Well, there is zero hope he can be a #1 ...they have this guy named Benjamin. Who are the other 4 guys..funny a rookie Funchess can be #2 but a 4-5 year vet can't move up to #2 ...i find that a contradiction as well. usually rookies start at the bottom of the depth chart.

Who are the 4 ahead of him, Cotchery still? Who else, do you know? I saw Funchess getting a lot of run with the 1s over Hill in the reports I read, especially in the redzone...he seemed to climb the depth charts somehow..

Yea - sometimes i wonder if it's the player or the Sanjay Lal that just never tapped his potential.
He has all the measurables. What went wrong!

I think Hill went into the worst possible situation. He needed to go somewhere where the HC liked him (Rex openly bashed the pick and routinely expressed his dislike of Hill), with a veteran QB, decent WR coach and a veteran receiver that could take him under his wing. If you watched him, he got open a lot as a Jet but he was just not part of their scheme. He is also still ridiculously young. He can still make a career if his knees can hold up.

Kevin, I guess you don't know a whole lot about the Panther's WR's since they released Steve Smith ?

1) Kelvin Benjamin - Stud
2) Devin Funchess - He looks great and why can't a rookie start ?
3) Brenton Bersin - The white Dude with the long blond hair is very explosive.
4) Jarrett Boykin - Playing well in camp.
5) Jerricho Cotchery - You know him.
6) Ted Ginn Jr. - Playing well since returning.
Corey Brown
Paul Browning
Damiere Byrd
Avius Capers
Marcus Lucas
De'Andre Presley
Stephen Hill - Going on Injured Reserve after clearing waivers.

The new Panthers have more talent @ WR then you give them credit for. Plus when you have a stud QB like Cam, he make an average WR look much better, like Aaron Rodgers or Brady.
