Would you trade or cut milliner if you can land evan mathis with part of that cut salary?

I do trust Mac & Bowles; but I believe it is too early to give up on Milliner.

I'm running out of patience with Milliner's health issues, but he's still young and talented. I don't want to move on from him just yet.

It's not a realistic scenario anyway. Right now he counts $3.4 mill towards the cap. if you cut him he count $5 mill towards the cap. You lose $1.6 mill in cap space if he's not on the roster...which doesnt help you sign Mathis.

Cutting Babin saves you 1.5 and cutting Pace saves 2.1, cutting the Posey kid at WR saves us another $750k. That would free up $4mill in cap space which would be more than the Phins offer of $2-3 based on playing incentives...I'd be open to something like that. Mauldin and Reiley have really looked good and we finally have some youth at the position. I'd like to keep Pace, but I like having a Pro Bowl RG more. Carpenter is also reportedly looking like a solid addition. Could really Boost pass protection and open lanes for the run game. I think he'd be a huge step up from Colon. But Milliner will not be part of the solution to get him.

This is complete nonsense. NO ONE is going to trade for a busted 1st round pick with a jacked up wrist no less. I would only believe that anyone would trade for Milliner for anything more than a conditional 7th rounder when I saw it.

Trade? How can you trade a player on the Jets for a player that is an unrestricted free agent on no team?

If it in some way helped increase our likelihood of signing Mathis, yes. Unfortunately, no other team is going to offer anything that would make it worth our while. The Jets are in a position where the only move they have is to hold on to him.
But your premise is right. Adding a solid linemen, who would Definitely start, possibly make the pro bowl, and whose addition would mean we are stacked at the offensive and defensive lines would be meaningful. It also fits in with our 2 year plan of contracts.

The sad truth about Milliner, is that it doesn't matter if he's 10 times better than Revis, if he can't stay on the field. He's had significant injuries every year and has not added anything to our team since he was drafted.
