I agree with this. IK was wrong but Geno seems to be too immature and not a leader, and wouldn't have made it pass a bad game and the booing from the crowd. I also think Geno's time in NY should come to an end.
When I first heard this, I was hoping it was Geno trying to be a leader in the locker room, and IK not taking it the right way.
But Bowles keeps referring to it as a "6th grade altercation", which gives little reason to think Geno has matured the way some here have predicted . . .
He won't, and he shouldn't.
But he should learn about maturity and being a leader on a team. Just playing the QB position doesn't give you leadership by default.

In related news, the national media, half of the Jets beat writers, and Patriots fans have suddenly in the past hour come to the conclusion that Geno Smith is a great QB. They have stopped laughing at him, and are now talking about how huge a loss this is for the Jets.
Geno wont be released..... but I think his days as a starter may be over. I actually was pulling for Fitz anyway. I would like to see Fitz this year and next.... then Petty long term. If the stories are true... and Geno was too immature to diffuse the argument, then I don't want him around either. I cant see Rogers or Manning or even cheater Brady in such a predicament...... but dumb ass Geno....right there in the middle. That is not a starting quarterback....... As for IK..... who cares. He was a marginal player at best..... and his career is toast..

Geno? Not sure his days are fully done. I think it may work out for the best for the Jets, anyway. Sign a guy like Flynn to be your #2 and Petty to apprentice. Hand the keys over to Fitz, and let him sink or swim. If he swims, stick with him. If he sinks, Geno comes back - with the support of the crowd - off the bench to replace him. Either way, it clears up a lot of the uncertainty going into the season. Now you know absolutely who it is going to be, and it's not Geno looking over his shoulder after every play.

Hypothetically, Jets are 4-0 when Geno comes back. You think Fitzpatrick/Petty/whoever sits? What has Geno done to prove that the job is his?
So what does getting punched in the face by guy who has been violent in the past , with an arrest record , say about Geno in the locker room? I'm curious?
