Geno needs a fresh start somewhere else after he heals. The fans here will boo him when he walks on the field and after every incomplete pass because the fans don't want him as the QB. The rest of the team doesn't need to suffer this and I don't think they will.
Maybe so. it's up to Fitzpatrick to ensure that Geno never sees the field again this season. If he struggles, people will be dying to see what Geno can do out there.
I guess self control is an ancient, outdated concept around here. The comparisons of each player in relation to blame here is disturbing. Don't give me this Geno deserved it crap. That's ridiculous. You can blame Geno for being immature. You can blame him for not paying back a debt. You can blame him for not having the respect of the team.
But please don't equate his actions with IK's. There's an ENORMOUS difference between arguing with a guy and breaking a guy's jaw. I don't give a rat's ass if Geno put his finger in IK's face. You don't knock a guy out for that. What is this? The mafia? The Wild West? I cannot believe some of what I'm reading from some of you guys.

Elias, I've switched sides here. I'm starting to agree with tebow can't throw, I don't think he should be allowed to return to the team. If they are going to cut IK, Smith needs to go to.
I'm thinking the players feel this way to. They are totally defying Bowels orders to keep the "cause" in house.

I said IK's mistake was closing his fists...should have gave him an open hand. iK is on the practice field today and Geno is wondering what his future holds.
It just shows you the lack of respect that Geno has commanded from anyone around him, the team, the fans and the media. There are people standing behind a CHEATER, A KILLER, A RAPIST, A WIFE BEATER and CHILD ABUSER but we here have drawn the line on here on a finger waver.
I am disappointed beyond belief that Geno did not show maturity but I do feel bad for the guy. The mountain that he will have to climb up on to get everyone's respect got steeper with this incident.

According to player quotes in the NY Post, he did a lot more then argue with a guy. He crossed a large locker room, in an enraged fashion, put his hands up to IK's face. That is by definition assault.

Geno always looks enraged. We all saw how he reacted to that fan...I could imagine how he ran up on IK acting tough. It seems the locker room has said f..k Geno.
I'm not, he's not ready. I am not willing to ruin another QB by rushing him.
I don't want him ruined. I want the light to go on for him. Playing doesn't always ruin a QB. It just seems that way because Rex ruined two.

I suspect the Jets will acquire another vet QB when the cuts take place. I don't want to see Smith out there again. I agree with Roger his"mere presence will cost the team two wins."
