Of the people out there, Flynn is by far the best, if healthy.

Wasn't long ago flynn was a hot item

Great news.....wonder if we carry 4 Qbs all season? No way Petty makes it to the practice squad

I agree. At this point of the preseason, you can't do much better.

I was kind of hoping they would trade for Glennon. That was a pipe dream, but was refueled today when Mac told reporters that a trade was possible.

Still happy with Flynn

as good as we could get off the scrap heap.

will make final roster decisions very interesting. assuming geno doesn't go on the IR-designated to return list, they likely will have to carry 4 QBs on the 53, 2 of which won't be active on game days. makes those last roster spots and battles more interesting

Glennon intrigues me also, I liked him coming out of college. Not sure what the Bucs would have wanted in a trade. Also are the Jets willing to trade a draft pick for a QB that potentially could be cut when Geno is healthy?

I hope Petty is still getting second team reps in the games

He will this week. However, I wonder if Flynn will get some work in the Giants game? I'm sure Flynn will be the 2nd string QB once the regular season starts. I think the Jets like Petty, but they realize he is better off being brought along slow.

I like Cousins and Mettenberger too.

I suspect the reason we didn't sign Flynn last week when he was in for a visit was so Mac could explore trade possibilities for some of these guys, but opposing GM's probably tried to pick his pockets because they thought he was desperate, thats why we went back to Flynn. Mac even admitted today that he explored possible trades.

I like the move. Flynn's seen plenty of action, and won't be a deer in the headlights if he's needed. I agree that Petty and Fitz will get the majority of reps, as Flynn will need the remaining three weeks to get up to speed with the offense.

My top choices also, but with the two qbs in front of them being mobile qbs likely to get dinged, their value is higher on the team than what they would get in return...same applies to Glennon.

Either we carry 4 until Geno is healthy -- or we IR Geno until week 8 and carry 3. Barring injury, I don't see Flynn being with the team for any longer than it takes for Geno to get healthy.

If they traded for Glennon, it probably would have bee a 3-4. Their not going to cut him. Not totally sure Smith would be coming back. Not to start anyway

To tell you the truth, I don't have a clue what is going to happen when Smith is healthy. I won't be stunned if any of the top 3 are gone. Think right now Petty is the only one who is safe

I read the bye week counts as one of the IR weeks, so Geno would actually be available week 7.

Assuming they weren't planning on bringing him back before the bye anyway, I'd say keep him out two more weeks and gain the roster spot . . .

One of the scribes said today that it's not 8 games, but 8 weeks. If they IR him tomorrow, that's when the 8 weeks start. I don't know that for a fact, but that's what the guy said
