When we finally reach the pinnacle, and win the Super Bowl, we will do it with integrity and without players who act like Sheldon Richard. Hang in there, I know you're frustrated, along with the rest of us
When you live in an age of moral relativism and situational ethics, when the Patriots can cheat and break the rules for over a decade with absolute impunity, and you have to watch activist judges cut Tom Brady loose when the whole world knows he cheated, at some point you become an idiot if you continue to play by some antiquated standards of ethics and morality.

All that should matter to us after this travesty of justice is that Sheldon Richardson plays in these games. I don't care if he's the biggest dooshbag on the planet, all I care about (AFTER THIS) is that he plays in these games, just like Brady.

And what's more - as much as I hate the Pats and Brady, the judge was right. Goodell went about things in an arrogant way. I think he made the right decision but in an indefensible process.

You may be right, but arrogance is not something that can be overturned. If every arrogant litigant or representation lost, nobody would ever win a case.

the difference is the CBA clearly spells out the punishment for sheldon and he failed multiple drug tests.

as much as we all want to hate on brady, the CBA does not spell out the punishment for what he allegedly does, nor is there any evidence directly tying him to the offense. it's very possible he's guilty, but there is nothing akin to multiple failed drug tests. whatever the science is on pressure in footballs, there is not one piece of concrete evidence that says brady told the ballboy to lower the pressure in the ball.

there is no smoking gun. just circumstantial evidence. in sheldon's case, the multiple failed drug tests are the proverbial smoking gun

But there doesn't have to be a smoking gun, nor is there a limit as to the penalty for this offense. The CBA sets a floor for this penalty, but not a ceiling.

The league did not have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Brady was involved. This was not a court of law when the league ruled. If the league did have to do so, then Brady would have been guilty of a criminal offense when he destroyed evidence.

What the court did was rule on the procedural loophole regarding Goodell, and whether he acted against the CBA, all the while ignoring Brady blatantly violating the CBA by actively working against an investigation.

hire creative lawyers and litigate

check the chain of custody on the drug test

check exactly what substance was detected in the drug test - was that specific chemical - in absolute detail specified as prohibited - if it wasnt then he wasnt on notice of the punishment

check for any other unfairness or lack of notice in the course of the process - it isnt what you did, its whether you had notice that it was forbidden.

The Players never should have agreed to be drug tested in the off season instead of the season..

i can't get behind siding with brady. the CBA makes Goodell the judge, jury and executioner- fairly or unfairly. it's written in a contract, basically.

if my contract with my landlord says that i owe him triple my monthly rent if it is late, he's going to hold me to that because i signed a contract- fairly or unfairly.

in my opinion whether goodell was abusive or not is irrelevant- it's literally written in a contract that he has the power to do what he did.

imo the nfl should not appeal it and let it die. it's not doing any good to the league or the game.

I agreed 100% with you until the last sentence.

Appeal it. Screw Brady and this obstructionist judge. Using the legal system to get the Golden Boy off.

It's like a child who doesn't get his way with Daddy. So he kicks and screams his way over to Mommy, and she relents. It's sickening. He circumvented the rules, and destroyed the evidence on his phone. This is rotten to the core. And now, we should all just shrug our shoulders and move on?

Ham is right

The courts have allowed punishment by the Commissioner’s Office of scores of NFL players

Ray Rice
Adrian Peterson
Sheldon Richardson
Greg Harty

and on and on and on

All African American

But when proper punishment was meted out to lily white Tom Brady

In stepped Richard "Bull Connor" Berman to let him off the hook

Definitely racially motivated IMHO

what are you talking about? the courts overturned the commissioners ruling for both ray rice and AP

perhaps you should get your facts straight before engaging in this racist drivel

well, i certainly agree with what you're saying. brady is guilty, there's little that could convince me otherwise. i just don't believe that at this point, the appeal will overturn the decision.

Its gonna be awfully hard for conservatives (and I am one) to argue that white privilege doesn't exist, that its all a fantasy of the left, when you see Tom Brady, GUILTY AS SIN, skating on a technicality, while scores of black players have had their suspensions stick for far lesser crimes. I ask you, whats worse, SMOKING WEED or cheating in the AFC Championship Game? Yet here we are, Sheldon Richardson is scheduled to miss four games, and Tom Brady will be under center on opening day. How is that NOT an absolute travesty of justice?

I was ready to accept Richardson's suspension and move on, all of us were, but now, after this ...

What proof besides the players being African Americans is there that they were mistreated? All those players have done something clearly illegal and against the CBA. Brady won the appeal Bc of the process that Goodell used to come to his ruling. It wasn't the court clearing him of any wrong doing.

And for the record, trust me, white privilege does exist everywhere in our society.

Brady is a minority in the league so affirmative action is alive and well in the NFL..:fluffy-white-cat-wa

So the courts are racist, this judge was racist, whoever you want to blame, there's some white privilege going on here.

I'll ask it again ...

Whats worse, SMOKING WEED or cheating in the AFC Championship Game?

We know BOTH GUYS ARE GUILTY, nobody outside of Patsie Homerville questions Brady's guilt, this judge didn't even question his guilt, and we all know Richardson is guilty as well, yet regardless of how we arrived at this place, here we sit, a week before the opener, Richardson is sitting out the first four games, and Tom Brady will be under center for the opener.

How is that NOT a travesty of justice, and how do you argue against the idea of white privilege when the NFLPA moved heaven and earth to get Tom Brady off on a technicality, but there is no such rigorous defense for Sheldon Richardson who was essentially told to accept his punishment and don't make any waves?

What they are saying is Sheldon knew the deal if he got caught smoking pot where Brady had no clue he would get a 4 game suspension for destroying evidence and playing with his balls..LOL

What they are saying is a load of crap, Brady, like every player, knows that cheating is forbidden, he especially knew it after having lived thru spygate, but that didn't stop him from saying F THE RULES and cheating anyway, and that didn't stop the NFLPA from calling in a national guard team of lawyers to get his ass off by hook or by crook, by any means necessary.

i guess adrian peterson and ray rice are also examples of white priviledge

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...rules-favor-adrian-peterson-minnesota-vikings

U.S. District Judge David Doty on Thursday overturned NFL arbitrator Harold Henderson's denial of Adrian Peterson's appeal, clearing the way for the Minnesota Vikings running back's possible reinstatement to the league....

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...ore-ravens-wins-appeal-eligible-reinstatement

Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has won his appeal of an indefinite suspension and has been reinstated to the NFL.

Rice is now eligible to sign with any NFL team.

"I would like to thank Judge Barbara Jones, the NFL Players Association, my attorneys, agents, advisors, family, friends and fans -- but most importantly, my wife Janay," Rice said in a statement released by the NFLPA on Friday. "I made an inexcusable mistake and accept full responsibility for my actions.

LOL Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson both sat out an entire NFL season, and neither guy is being reimbursed for the mega-millions it cost them, meantime Tom Brady is suiting up on opening day and not missing ONE SNAP of NFL action.

He's not losing any money, he's not losing any playing time, he's not losing anything!
