Jets defeat the Patriots in the 2011 Divisional Playoff Game.
I was in the Boston area that week on a business trip and I was at The Four’s with my coworkers which were all Pats fans and one GIANT fan. It was a packed house and I counted a handle of Jets fan there (we could spot each other a mile away). I honestly didn’t think we had a shot because we just beat Manning in Indy by one point the week before. I enjoyed the game but more importantly I enjoyed watching every Pats fan in their misery. Once I left I locked eyes with three JETS fans and we did the J-E-T-S chat it’s like we knew each other all our lives and it didn’t go over very well. We had to run out. One of the best nights of my life!!!!!!
I will start of by saying my Uncle was a sports photographer. It was only a preseason game Jets/Giants but my Brother and I were given press passes. We both hung cameras around our necks and walked the sidelines with the players. It was in the SackExchange years. It was great rubbing shoulders with those guys.
Seeing Kleco up close must have been awesome.
I'm a fairly big guy 6'1 about 230lbs at the time but standing next to DLinemen and OLinemen all geared up I felt tiny. It was humbling.
I played college ball, an OL for a DIII program, so I'm plenty big, but standing next to Marvin Washington (remember him?), I never felt so out-of-shape. He was huge, and had the waist of a cheerleader. It was ridiculous.
As for my favorite Jets memory, a couple come to mind. Obviously, beating the Pats. But winning the division in Week 17, that one year, the Green Bay game, that was just incredible. I remember that day vividly.
In person, it was the final game at the old stadium. Rex's first season, bitter cold in the upper deck, just after New Year's. They blew out the Bengals to get into the wild card. The stadium was absolute chaos. People walking out with seats, all sorts of craziness. The team did a lap around the stadium after clinching. Seeing it in person, it was just...unreal. Probably the best sports moment I've ever seen live.
Especially since I am a Mets fan, and had to watch the Cards win the pennant in person, Game 7 at Shea, 2006.
I remember both of your moments. I was actually at that Bengals game. What would we have done without Brad Smith. I don't remember if he scored a big run on a wild cat play or if it was on a kick return. It was FREEZING. I was well dressed but didn't wear good enough socks. I was in the upper deck. All my friends except for one left early since the game was in hand but we stayed til the end. It was great.
That gb game was great. Still remember the crowd going nuts watch Vinateri kick one right through the uprights to help the jets advance. I think I put that as my fav moment of not, it's def up there!

Amazing isn't it! Being a Jets fan is like being in a frat. Our J-E-T-S chant seems like its secret or something and it's fits who and what the Jets and their fans are. Just perfect!!! I remember watching at the sports bar in Texas the divisional game in 98 when the Jets beat the Jaquars at home. All the Jets fans were there and there weren't many of us but it seemed as if were had known each other our entire lives. It truly felt as if we all went through some pledging ritual to become a Jets fans, LOL!Jets defeat the Patriots in the 2011 Divisional Playoff Game.
