Marshall: First Jet WR to have 3 straight 100 yard receiving games since 1988

Well, keeping up with this thread, Marshall added yet another straight 100+ yard game.

7 receptions 111 Yards 1 TD

Season total:

37 Receptions 511 yards and 4 TD

His average per catch actually increased to 13.8 ypc. Like I mentioned already.... Is it possible that Fitz has better chemistry with Marshall than Cutler ever did?

The only WRs I remember that were compatible to BM as a Jet were Keyshawn, Al Toon and Braylon and I've been a Jets die-hard since 82. None of these guys were better then BM.

Braylon, while good for a short time, does not even belong in the same conversation as the other 3 guys.

Manning also?

Could it be that Fitz doesn't really suck?

This is stunning: Ryan Fitzpatrick's 99.0 Total QBR was the highest by a Jets' quarterback in a game in the last 10 seasons, according to ESPN Stats & Info. His 18-yard TD run was the longest by a Jets' QB since Richard Todd (1980). Todd Bowles joked with Fitzpatrick on the sideline, saying they should install the read-option. No thanks, Fitzpatrick replied.

Manning never played with Marshall. What are you talking about? Are you even paying attention to anything other than the Jets?

Fitz has good chemistry with Marshall, but Marshall is very accommodating of any QB. And, YES, Fitz still sucks.

If you question that, hold your breath and see if he gets the Jets to the SB.

Marshall is a pure monster. Imagine if we had him 5 years ago? Then again, he would have been playing with Sanchez and then Geno so who knows how that would have turned out. On the other hand, Marshall is such a complimentary receiver that he can make any QB and the other players around him better. Obviously he makes the QB better just by his size, talent and the attention he draws away from the other targets. He also open up the whole field for the running game. BM at 31 is on target for 100 plus catches and 1500 yards. If he keeps this up, who knows where our season will end up. There is no doubt, BM has helped Fitz, Decker and Ivory tremendously. Not taking anything away from their talent, especially Ivory and Decker but we all see BM is a key reason why this offense is clicking on all cylinders. Well, the o-line may actually be the reason but you get my point, LOL!!! Keep doing what your doing BM and glad to have you hear. J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets

This is quickly turning into one of the best trades in franchise history, if not the best.

I always knew Marshall was a beast, physically he's one of the toughest match-ups in all of football, probably the single most underrated WR in all of football over the past decade, this despite all of his accolades, so I loved the trade when we made it. I thought it gave us a lethal duo for the first time in a long time, the kind of WR duo that could give other teams absolute fits, and so far its been even better than I expected. Even being a huge Brandon Marshall fan, I did not know he had this much left in the tank. He is playing at a first team All-Pro level. It saddens me to think that there many not be many seasons left in his future like this one, because we got him at 31, but for now I am just going to enjoy and marvel at this players ability. He has totally transformed this passing game, not only with his own monstrous performance, but also by allowing Decker to slide over to a more complimentary #2 WR role which perfectly suits him as well. So that trade didn't only give us an ELITE #1 WR in Marshall, by proxy it also gave us one of the best #2 WR's in the sport as well.

BTW if he has a couple of 100/1500 seasons with the Jets, in addition to his already brilliant career, IMO we're looking at a Hall of Fame WR here. He's already a borderline HOFer, but a couple of more dominant seasons and he's a no brainer. He's Terrell Owens (who I placed in my all-time TOP 10 WR's), but more humble and a lot easier to root for.

Couldn't agree more. BM and Decker make a deadly duo. Just imagine if they can get Smith on track, WOW! I would say Curtis Martin is the best FA pick-up in Jets history with the Revis FA pick-up being second. As for a trade, I can't think of one right now as being better in Jets history then the BM one. Draft picks, you gotta go with Broadway Joe being the best Jets draft pick ever right?

Namath is definitely the best draft pick. Revis never should have been allowed to leave in the first place, so I view that more as correcting a mistake. Curtis Martin was a terrific FA addition. As for trades, I can't recall a better one than Marshall for a late round draft pick. Kris Jenkins was a monster too, that was a terrific trade, unfortunately after his initial season with he Jets he started breaking down physically, so we only got one full season of dominance from that deal. Not surprising, thats partly why Carolina traded him, bad knees. Marshall takes great care of himself, stays in peak condition, and has no history of serious injuries, so barring something unforeseen we should get more length from Marshall.

EDIT: I just realized, Ivory was a terrific trade too. Its one of the few things Idzik did right.

Damn, forgot all but Ivory. We'll I'll say this and I think we both can agree, Ivory trade hasnt come to shine truly until this year for whatever reason. BM trade has shined bright from day one until now and appears it will continue and the Ivory trade doesn't appear to compare really to this BM trade.

I think we should serious consideration to doing ALL of our trading with the Chicago Bears. We always make out well in trades with da bears.

Remember, Thomas Jones? We traded the Bears our 2nd round draft choice for Thomas Jones and their 2nd draft choice. I loved that trade.

Now, we got a stud WR for a 5th round draft choice?

The Bears should be our trading partners forever. Only if the Bears have nothing to offer, we could consider the New Orleans Saints as we got Chris Ivory for a 4th round draft choice.
