my only issue is bobby april usually he has one of the best special teams in the NFL what the hell is wrong?
We only had 10 men on the field for that blocked punt (TD), which is totally inexcusable. Bowles mentioned that in his post game locker-room speech and took the blame on himself, and he was not happy, said that will not happen again.
He took the blame, but really thats on the special teams coach, he's gotta get his 11 on the field.

The bright side of todays game is that every single point the Redskins scored was as a direct result of the Jets turnovers and ST blunder. 3 turnovers in the 1st half led to 13 points for the offense. 7 in the 2nd half as a result of the blocked punt.
Those mistakes are INEXCUSEABLE. The bright side is they can be fixed. It's really aberration that both Decker and Marshall had fumbles. I'll bet that won't happen again for a VERY long time.
The ST is the Achilles heal of the Jets in 2015. The offense isn't. The offense is doing a lot of good things. They have to get better, but they are executing and winning games.
The ST needs to be tended to. I'm really not sure what it's going to take? But I think hiring Westhoff as a consultant is a fabulous idea and one I would 100% support. I hope the CS reads this thread!

I love that we have him for offense...good hands catching, good blocker, good runner.
It just seems we're handicapping ourselves on KO returns with his lack of speed...too often it seems the other unit is at our 20 by the time he's at our 10. That's tough sledding.

The last two years Mikes ST were nothing special and he was out couched a few times... enough with him.

I like Westhoff too but his lasr few years were not great either
I chalked that up to poor talent & depth
But this time is more talented & deeper still no good ?????

I don't think we'll be seeing westhoff back. He had a battle with cancer, retired, then came back. I think he left a bit annoyed. Complained about not having the talent dedicated to ST's
He seems perfect for what he is doing as an analyst. A little nuts, but a smart football guy.
I don't know what the problem is with Bobby April. He has a lot of experience, a good rep, seems to have decent talent, and the ST's clearly suck.
The Jets only had 10 men on the field for the blocked punt. That's not acceptable. Bowles took responsibility for it in front of he team, but it is on April.
That kind of stuff will get a coach fired very quickly. I hope they can turn it around, it's becoming a major problem. Something else every week
