Great win vs Washington as now we head to Foxboro. This will be our biggest test of the season so far as we all know.

The best team in the AFC east for the past 10 plus years vs a hungry squad led by a disciplinarian who also expects nothing else less than a win. This IMHO will be an epic battle next sunday. This Jets team has everything that we've wanted to go toe to toe with an elite team like the Patriots. Make no mistake, Bowles will have the green and white ready.

I absolutley cannot wait until this one folks. The winner will be in sole possesion of 1st place. Let's show'em that this team isn't about talking up a good game... our mantra is about out performing our opponent!

Glad you started the game thread for next week.

First because its never too early to start talking Jets/Pats, especially with first place on the line, but also because we won today and I believe you keep riding the hot (game thread) hand until it cools off. :)

In spite playing the Colts tonight - Belichick won't get any sleep tonight looking at tapes of your game today.

If the Pats lose tonight (which is highly unlikely), the 1st one that says that they will be "Mad" or "hungrier" than us i'm gonna turn into this guy:

This Jets team is much better than I thought they would be. They really have put forth more than probably most of us thought they were capable of.

But make no mistake about it, the Jets have some flaws that the Patsies will make every effort at exploiting. I like the Jets starting lineup. I think they play pretty well. But they are missing depth and we suffer injuries, we will lose that's kind of out of the Jets hands. We just have to hope for the best.

In order for the Jets to win this game they MUST:

1) HIT Brady early and often. Knock that POS off his spot on almost every play. Todays effort by the defense was NOT good enough. The pass rush must generate pressure from all angles. They must bat down balls. They must SACK Brady.

2) They MUST get Chris Ivory going. Everybody knows what the Patsies will try defensively against us. They will put 8 in the box and stop Chris Ivory. That puts the onus on Ryan Fitzpatrick to loosen the Patsies up through the air. If Fitz tries throwing to Marshall when he's double covered? That's a pick every time you play the Patsies. Ryan needs to be accurate with the football and he needs to be a better player than he was today. Fitz needs to open up the running game from his passing for once. Let Ivory be the recipient of Fitz great play. It shouldn't always be the other way around.

3) NO turnovers. The Jets almost gave this one away from turnovers today. Must take better care of the football.

4) Touchdowns, NOT field goals. That is what cost us BOTH games against them last season. The Jets offense, as pathetic as it was talent wise, moved the ball between the 20's all day long against the Patsies. However, when they reached the red zone they almost always stalled and had to settle for field goals. The Jets must get touchdowns in the red zone. Field goals are not good enough.

5) ST MUST play better. They've been a liability all season. When you're playing the Patsies you need all 3 phases playing well. Todays effort would have cost us the game against the Patsies.

I believe the Jets are capable of winning this game. But they will need to play BETTER than they have all season. I mean every phase, offense, defense, and ST, MUST play much better than they did today.

Does anyone else think that we will see a shot or two downfield against Pats? I thought we would see one today, particularly against Redskins banged up secondary. Perhaps we were saving that look for next week.

I hope we do and I think we'll see a few. I believe that they'll try to stack the box and let Fitz beat them. This will leave our receivers on one on one coverage down the field.

IMO thats too high. I could see 6 or 7, but 9.5 is a slap in the face.

Let's see how much the line moves during the week
I can see it comin down, maybe to 81/2 depends on what happens tonite
Although I still think NE gets a ton of action especially at home

Watching NE pull away right now from Indy, I've gotta say, they are clicking on all cylinders offensively. We are gonna need the defense to step up big time on the road next week.

Huge game. Man, is it huge!

I'm praying that Skrine can have a quick recovery. We'll need him to cover the underneath stuff. Colts offense has been non-existent in the second half. Belichik and his adjustments.....

As of this evening the Jets are ranked #1 in rushing #1 in total defense. We're successful in just what we strive to do: run the ball and play solid defense.

Stacking the box with Marshall and Decker is a dangerous way to do business

After watching our beloved Jets play the past 5 weeks, I feel they have a real chance this coming Sunday. Fitz is playing alot better then I ever expected, so is Ivory and our o-line has been excellent. The D is what we thought they were and that is DAMN good. They rattle Brady early and keep the pressure on him, it won't be a Pats scoring 30 type of game. Ofcourse our offense has to step up and has done so those far. Marshall is a pure monster, Ivory is a pure beast, Decker is a quiet assassin and Fitz has been the biggest surprise of all. The Jets truly have a chance to win this game and if you would of asked me this 4-5 weeks ago I would of said no.

Really like what the team has done so far, and am looking forward to a very competitive game on Sunday. My only hesitation in getting too optimistic is that when I was watching parts of the first half of the Skins game, I was saying to myself that Belicheck has his blueprint to beat our defense. We looked vulnerable to the quick passing game, as Cousins seemed to be exploiting our soft underbelly which is the coverage of short range passes. Maybe that was the 4-3 front that Bowles deployed, I'm not sure but it made me uncomfortable for this weeks game. To our credit, adjustments were made and perhaps we just woke up as our D pitched a shutout in the 2nd half. My big concern is that we may be without both Skrine and Williams this week, and that someone like Edelman will go off. Regardless, this should be a fun one to watch.

I believe the Pats' left tackle got injured last night. Hopefully he's out this week. That would mean they are on their third option at lt.
