I find it interesting that many posters (myself included!) had a 'bad feeling' before the Washington game and most posters (myself not included) have a 'positive feeling' against the Pats. I certainly hope we play well and win.

I am particularly concerned about Dion Lewis coming out of the backfield ala Sproles. He is going to try to dink and dunk us to death and I would HATE to see Davis or Harris trying to cover Lewis.

It should be interesting and I fully expect everyone (myself included) to have a 'bad feeling' about the Raiders!

Washington would have been a classic "look past" game in recent years making the Pats a must win. I think we all feel good about the Pats, bc The Jets are really playing with house money...we are huge underdogs, but so what?

Bowles saying that if we win it doesn't make us, and if we lose it doesn't break us. it is a great close to mid season check for us. it will let us know what they need to do be a powerhouse in the conference.

jets will never beat pats with fitzpatrick at q.b.

jets will never beat pats with fitzpatrick at q.b.

with fitzpatrick at q.b.the jets will never defeat the pats.he is an easy read and furthermore he is death at throwing downfield. headwise he can read the defense.but he just does not have the tools to defeat the pats veteran team.

How about we let the game play out? It's not just Fitz but the entire team will be out there. Apart from QB, we are better at all facets. I know the QB is the most important one but Brady can have an off day.....

Everyone is worried about the Jets D matchups.

My question is this. With Owusu and Enuwa out, does kerley get the nod in the slot? Or does decker play the slot and Smth on the outside?

It's interesting because Kerley has been an issue for the Patriots, and with their secondary depth, Kerley is the type of guy that could have a huge game. I am curious what Bowles/Chan do here. & games against the pats, he has 34 rec for 500yds, 2 tds

Owusu is listed as probable

Marcus Williams, Chris Owusu, Buster Skrine probable. Colon questionable (but should play). Jarrett doubtful. Powell out. There you have it.

Owusu can have a big impact if he plays....

I love watching Brandon Marshall's press conferences, they give you a real insight into what is making this team successful and why we should be cautiously optimistic that the success will continue, even if we don't upset the Patriots this week.

Thoughtful, articulate, humble, insightful; one of the real veteran leaders on this team, which sometimes gets overlooked.

I agree with Bart Scott.

How can the Jets beat the Patriots, you ask?

According to Bart Scott, they just have to show up and execute.

“To me, the Jets are the more talented team,” he said. “They just have to go out there and be the more talented team. They don’t have the most talented quarterback, but you go man-for-man, they’re the more talented team. This is different than Buffalo mouthing off at the end of the season because they had a bunch of young guys who never had any success in the league. That’s a veteran group over there. You’re not going to overwhelm Brick. You’re not going to overwhelm Mangold. You’re not going to overwhelm Colon. You’re not going to overwhelm Marshall. The moment’s not going to be too big for those guys. I’m not concerned with them showing up. They just have to play a clean game and understand whatever they get at the beginning of the game is what they’re going to get for the game. I’d much rather see Revis take on Gronkowski like he did Jimmy Graham. That’s a matchup I’d pay to see. But if not, you can take pieces away. Edelman can be taken away by Buster Skrine, and I think that Revis could take away Gronkowski (and they can make Dion Lewis beat them running the ball).”

What the Jets need is less expertise from people who have never accomplished shit in football trying to explain football at any level. The team has a smarter head coach than Scott or Gilchrist or Marshall or any of these other mouths.

These guys talk more than my ex-wife and don't make a bit more sense.
Shut up and watch the game.

Update on Pats receivers, La Fell is now healthy for the game.

So the list of receivers is Edelman, Amendola, LaFell, Lewis and Blount out of the backfield, Gronkowski and Chandler at tight ends. Amendola has been a bear lately.

Wouldn't have it any other way, as our backend is healthy as well...

Round 1... GO JETS!!!!!!

What I'm curious to see is- will Bowles continue to be lights out in making adjustments at the half that shuts down what the other team is doing. That would be something!, considering BB does the same, though I'd be happy with him just keeping us highly competitive in a nail biter...

I reallly like how Ridley might be an option this Sunday. The guy has deadly speed this team has been lacking besides Ivory. Gonna be great if he can play.
He'll be great on screen plays.

TOP 5 things we must do to upset the Pats @ NE, aside from winning the turnover battle which is obvious.

1. Our vaunted D-line must take advantage of NE's injuries at LT (Solder and Cannon are both out). Its vitally important that we make Tom Brady uncomfortable and consistently get him off his spot, if not get him on the ground, and that starts by taking advantage of what should be a huge edge at RDE vs LT, otherwise Brady will pick you apart.

2. Put Revis on Gronk. The Pats become damn near unbeatable when Gronk and Edelman are having big days, so its vitally important that we don't let either of these players go off. They're gonna make some plays, I get that, but we can't let them wreck the game. Revis should be able to handle Gronk and keep him from doing too much damage.

3. Provided there are no setbacks for Buster Skrine between now and kickoff on Sunday, this matchup verses an elite slot WR is the reason we brought this kid in here. If anyone has the quickness and skills to keep Edelman in check, it has to be Buster Skrine. This is another man assignment in my view, and its a battle we must win in order to win this game. Again, that doesn't mean shutting Edelman down completely. Skrine just can't let him wreck the game.

Those are the three keys on defense as I see it, the last two pertain to the offense:

4. You know going into this game that the Patriots are going to emphasize Chris Ivory and Brandon Marshall in this game, cause thats what they do, thats been Bill Belichick's calling card for as long as he's been in coaching, to take away what you do best, take you out of your comfort zone, and force you to beat them with other guys. Thats why I view Eric Decker as the biggest key on offense this week. I'm guessing he's gonna see a ton of single coverage with the Pats doubling Marshall and loading up eight in the box to keep Ivory in check. If the Jets are going to win this game, IMO Decker will need to have a 100+ Yards Receiving with 2+ TD's this week. This will have to be his best game.

5. We're gonna need a third WR to step-up. I don't care if its Owusu, Devin Smith, Jeremy Kerley or Kenbrell Thompkins, all I know is, when this game ends one of these guys will have to have had a breakout game if we are going to win, maybe one or two homerun deep balls for Devin Smith or some steady playmaking for Owusu or Kerley, or some combination of these things, but this week relying solely on Marshall & Decker will not suffice, we need other WR's to step-up.

If we can get these five things, and win the turnover battle, we have a chance to pull-off the upset.
