I can't believe we gave that up, every 3rd and long we sent 5 and pressured the middle forcing Brady to pass for less than 7yds every time.... On that play we rushed 3 or 4.. nothing up the middle and let Brady just wait and coverage broke down... what a disaster play... Bad call... no push and the rare coverage breakdown... F*&^!!!
Speaking of the Refs, the thing I notice the most and seems to be the biggest advantage the Pats seem to get is the lack of offensive holding penalties.
I mean there were at least 7 or 8 definite holds that I saw that weren't called, and at least 3 that were obvious holds on one on one situations in the backfield where our DL were pulled down or held from behind.
It seems they get the benefit of the doubt on every drop back.

I agree, it is so obvious and it's the difference with giving brady a couple extra seconds to make his progressions.
Baloney. Fitz's turnover had nothing to do with this loss. They were down 10, got a lucky onside kick, and lost by 7.
How does the Fitzpatrick's turnover decide this game? If anything, it proves MY point. One turnover isn't the difference today. We couldn't hold Brady all day, our running game was spotty, and Giacomini got abused by Ninkovich. Absolutely abused. I think he had about five passes batted down today. That is LUDICROUS. We had first and goal inside the five, and got a FG out of it. Can't do that on the road against anyone.
We lost a game we were "expected" to lose. We stayed with them. We just lost a tough one. We'll get them next time.
I believe that we will get them next time, because today convinced me that we have a better team and we should win that game in our building, and I believe that we will. The problem is, will that game carry the same relevance for both teams that it carried today, with real division title implications?
I seriously doubt that it will. If we were going to challenge NE for the division title this year, in any meaningful way, IMO we had our chance to make them sweat and have to earn it today. I'm not so sure we will get that chance again.
The Pats essentially opened up a 2.5 Game lead in the division today, where had they lost, the Jets would essentially be in first place by virtue of the H2H tiebreaker, thats how much this game mattered in terms of the division.
A lot has to happen, in our favor, just to get back to the next meeting having the same division title implications.
Make no mistake about it, this was a huge missed opportunity, its the difference between playing the rest of the season with realistic division title hopes, or playing the rest of the season for a wildcard.
Maybe my biggest disappointment was our defensive line. Four 1st rounders if you count the absolutely useless Coples. NE was banged up and on their third starter at tackle. We should have generated more pressure and just makes me think they are a bit overrated, at least with their pass rushing skills. Even Shawn Ellis would get to Brady at times of need. Unless we blitzed, which we should have done on third and 17, we didn't sustain the pressure needed to harass Brady enough.

Mine too, for all of the reasons you cited.
If LaFell could catch then the game could have been a big win for Pats. We just didn't make enough plays to win. We probably have an equal or better team, but they have Brady and he trumps every player we added this off season. We still have a good teams with a playoff spot in our reach so just keep beating the garbage teams and we have a few more in front of us.
Agreed. We hung tough but they were the better team.

As I already mentioned and if it rubs you the wrong I don't care, playing turnover free is FOOTBALL 101. If you're not smart enough to know that, then I have no hope for you. Not that I ever really did.
