If you were coach who would you put on gronk?

Mcdougle played pretty good after skrine went down, but I think marcus has more exp and that could help him here.

I would put in marcus to start and if he can't do it try mcdougle but either way we have better options than past years.

Not sure, but our secondary is looking nice, and we have Milliner coming back down the road!!

Um neither one should cover gronk. I think Gilchrist is a good option. A safety with great cover skills.

It will be a group effort though.

I'd put Cromartie & Gilchrist on him and play all day with 5 DB's. One guy can't cover Gronk.

Go Jets...Cyborg

Yeah neither... maybe Gilchrist but how about Cromartie... Our other Corners can cover all of their WR's.

Cro has the size with Gronk.

Two man job. I'd go with Cro, and maybe Pryor. Cro for the coverage. Pryor for the Pop

The problem with Cro is what if gronk catches a ball? He won't be able to tackle him and that's no joke. I still say Gilchrist for the most part.

Where is Antonio Allen when you need him.

See FlGreen's post.... Cro locks him down on coverage and Pryor is there to bring him down on plays he makes the catch..

I think you go with all of the above. A bunch of different looks on Gronk. You want to disguise it some, because each approach has its flaws. You have 3 or 4 plans for Gronk and mix them up.

Probably run a lot of nickel and dime packages.

Blitzes and stunts seek up the middle pressure more than edge pressure

Of course Revis is GREAT in coverage, and a good tackler. Think he might just be to small to shadow Gronk all day.

I would be very concerned about Revis getting hurt making a head on tackle against Gronk. Think there are better options. JMO

Revis has made a living shutting down bigger guys. The speed receiver gives him issues, not the big guy. Megatron and Moss can attest to that. Our best on their best. If size is the concern, why put Mcdougle or Williams on him?

BOTH at least. Or probably one of them and a Safety to pop Gronk the second he turns to run.

Best way to control Gronkowski?

Make it really difficult for the qb to get the ball to him.

If the back of Braby's uniform isn't dirty by halftime, we might have a problem...

To answer the question. Marcus Williams if healthy. McDougle is wayyy too small to cover Gronk. Plus I wasn't impressed with McDougle against the Redskins. Williams seems to be the better athlete and his size is superior.
Gronk is going to present problems. As will Edelman who is a matchup nightmare for the Jets without Skrine in the lineup.
