I'm not a Penn State fan but I watched the Pinstripe Bowl. I like Hackenberg, but this year he seemed to be really inconsistent. I don't know it's from his horrible offensive line or that he regressed because of Bill O' Brien's departure, however I do see a lot of potential in Hackenberg. He's a big quarterback very much like a Luck/Roethlisberger type who has a strong arm and can run when needed. Next year, if he cleans up the silly mistakes such as taking sacks instead of throwing the ball away and taking care of the ball he will be a top pick in my opinion.
Another prospect I like from Penn State is tight end Jesse James, was disappointed that he was not used more. He's a big reliable weapon for Hackenberg who is a really got blocker. Depending how well Cumberland does next year, I feel he would be a great fit for the Jets. Jets could use a blocking tight end like James.
