If you offered John Idzik to the thirty one other teams in the NFL in exchange for their GM, how many do you think would take that trade?

My guess: zero.

That's not a good measure. That's like asking: If you offered your wife/gf to 31 other married/attached guys who would make that trade?

My guess? No one's going to give you an honest answer. No matter how hot she is. Now if you divorced her, and she was a free agent. Then you'd get a better assessment of her relative worth. Now I'm not saying that Idzik is as hot as your wife/gf.

OK. When Idzik was available only one team wanted him.

It only seems that way. It's not actually the case. Look closer. Those guys with the burners oftentimes (not always) have a good QBs throwing to them. Other times they played well early in the season and now they're leveling off. We have a poor QB AND we run the ball a thousand times a game. If we had Aaron Rodgers throwing the ball, it's likely that we'd all be saying what a great slot receiver Kerley is. And we'd be saying how great Amaro could be ... but for his lapses in concentration.
yes, it really does feel like that!!

especially considering we needed an upgrade at WR as much as any team in the league..

griffin has been absolutely horrible this season regardless of how you want to bend his numbers to your argument..

LOLz I won't even call you on your :wtf: "Rodgers" comment..

Bend his numbers? Are you saying he's not 1000 times better than Geno?

when Lombardi was available only one team wanted him; same with Noll, Walsh and Belichick. It was only after all those championships that people clamor for their services. The trick is to see the talent before everyone else does.

Are you sleeping with Idzik??? And did you just compare him to those 4 coaches?? We will never know if it was a huge mistake because he will never be hired as a GM again.

He's third in the NFL with a Completion percentage of 69.4% and has a QB rating that's almost 20 points higher than our QB. Bending his stats?
He's had a decent year. His team is awful and he plays for an owner that changes regimes like he changes his pants. His career stats are far better than what we have seen since Pennington.

The Rodgers comment was to make the point that there wasn't any free agents that fit our needs. So if Aaron Rodger was available and Idzik passed up on him, I would understand the anger. There were no slam dunks in free agency. Even Revis was a question mark ... and we all know that was Woody's decision.

has he been way better than geno this season?? no griffin hasn't been..

do you really think griffin belongs in the same sentence as rogers?? i don't unless the sentence is something like "aaron rodgers & geno smith are both presently NFL QBs.."

& why are to separate regimes being such meanies to the young man??

I just think the organization needs a fresh start from top to bottom. He hasn't shown me anything that gives me hope and as a fan that is all you can ever ask for is hope. Rex gave it to us for 2 years.

There's always that tension between a fresh start and throwing the proverbial baby out with the bathwater. You know who makes fresh starts all the time? The Redskins.

Griffen hasn't been any better than Geno? cmon be fair. Geno has how many turnovers and a completion percentage of 60? Griffen has a completion percentage over 69 and 4 turnovers. His accuracy is great throughout his 3 years in the league. Geno's accuracy is awful during his 2 years. You're baiting.

But you're right in one aspect: it shouldn't matter that his owner sucks. But ... he's a running QB in year one and he's all world. Year 2 he's rushed back after injury and he's told he's a pocket passer. Year three he has a new obnoxious coach that blasts him in public. My guess? He's looking to leave.

But who cares? This thread is about Idzik.

Have to disagree

Just last week RG3 helps upset the Eagles

G-No costs the Jets a 3 TD loss playing that same Eagle team

RG3 is salvagable, G-No is GARBAGE

741 yards is pretty pathetic. Dropping easy passes. And couldn't stay healthy early on. That's closer to garbage than greatness.

Decker's performance is just about what we should have expected. He catches and yards are down, but that's because he was thrown to less. His catch percentage is virtually the same as last year: 64%. He catches about 64% of what's thrown his way. Not great, but far from "garbage."

That's not true. Griffen has given Snyder his last winning season in 2012. And Snyder no longer loves RG3, that's why he gave the ok to publicly criticize him.
