Ryan Tannehill signed a four year contract extension with the Miami Dolphins worth $77 million in new money. The contract contains $21.5 million fully guaranteed upon signing. The guarantee is made up of an $11.5 million signing bonus and his 2015 and 2016 base salaries. Tannehill’s 2017 salary is guaranteed for injury, with $3.5 million becoming fully guaranteed on the 5th day of the 2016 League Year and the balance becoming fully guaranteed on the 5th day of the 2017 League Year. $5.525 million of his 2018 salary is also guaranteed for injury and becomes fully guaranteed on the 5th day of the 2018 League Year. Miami increased his 2015 cap charge by $842,477 with the extension but decreased his 2016 charge by $4.515 million.
Them thinking Tannehill was their franchise QB and long-term answer was wishful thinking, much like the mistake we made with Sanchez. Its a classic case of seeing what you want to see and not what actually is, because Tannehill never looked like anything more than an average QB in my view, at best ... and now he's not even that.

Landry is a terrific player, but why he's not being doubled is a mystery too me.
