Ndamukong Suh addressed his Miami Dolphins defensive teammates on Monday.

It was -- ummmmm -- interesting.

Every game, all season

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport passed along the fiery address from the defensive tackle Sunday on NFL Network's GameDay Morning.

"I'm told he told them: 'I run this defense, I'm going to be here for the next five years, there is no guarantee any of you will be as well. Only a handful of guys are good enough to play with me right now,'" Rapoport said. "He also said the schemes were not good enough, the techniques were not enough and everyone needed to be better, he said 'follow me.'"

There are many levels to Suh's imploring. The side of the bi-monthly Suh debate in which you generally fall (bad guy vs. overblown microscope) likely dictates how you perceive his comments. Per Rapoport, the Dolphins themselves were split on how to take it.

"My understanding is the room was split, some saw this as the kind of address a leader would give. Others, just something they've never heard before," Rapoport said.

Suh is certainly correct that given his six-year, $114 million contract, he's not going anywhere. Given the defensive lineman's personality and obvious perception of himself in relation to the defense's approach, it will be interesting to see how much influence he has when the Dolphins' brass hires a new coaching staff this offseason.

What a waste of money. Not to mention the money they wasted on Tannerhill.

I miss Mike T

How much of underperforming Suhs 6 year 114 m contract is guaranteed?

If it is like 99.9 percent of NFL contracts its this and maybe next at the most.

Teams who break the bank for players like this get what they deserve. They think one player is going to turn around the entire team. Outside of a franchise QB, I wouldn't ever pay any FA that kind of money. It hardly ever works.

Excellent!!! The more the Phins waste money in the off season on players as such, a sure guaranteed sweep year after year can be checked off the win column for us!!

If they were to cut Suh at the end of the season they take close to a $54,000,000 cap hit. Bank on it, like he said he'll be a Fin for the next 5 years

The good news for the Fish is if they cut Tannehill at the end of the season the cap hit will only be 18.5 million

LOL

You guys suck, you are not worthy of playing with me, but it is what it is so lets try and make the best of it until we can get rid of you losers and find some guys who are up to my standards.

Thats even better than Leon Hess' "lets go out there and show them we're not a bunch of horses asses" speech.

For those who are too young to remember, that was near the end of Kotite's 1-15 debacle, Hess' annual Thanksgiving address to the team.
