very good day by all three of the phases of the team. they rattled the rookie and harassed him all day. Our Offense was on fire in the first half, cant remember the last time we started that quick.
we keep playing like we did today and we may have more than 3 games left.

+1 agree

Just got back from the game. Like many of you mentioned, all three phases played a great game. Our receivers are just monsters. Wonder if anyone will step up now that Smith will more likely than not will be gone a while.

It's such a breath of fresh air to have a bright person as a qb. That pass to a wide open Marshall was a thing of beauty. Fitz is on a roll. Many people imagined he would be a game manager just don't turn the ball over and let the defense do the work. Thankfully that hasn't been the case. We need Fitz to be more and he has lived up to the task and then some. It will be a travesty if this team cannot make the playoffs. They are so much fun to watch a huge improvement over the last few years!!!!

Ridley and Powell seem have a very similar style and skillset. It will be interesting to see the rotations at HB with all three healthy. Same at MLB.

I was really counting on the Bengals to give us some help today, but the Steelers went into Cinci and manhandled them, probably ended their SB aspirations too by knocking out their QB, not that Dalton is anything special, but its a huge step down to McCarron. They're playing so well that they've been installed as an early 5.5 favorite vs the 10-3 Broncos.

Can we all agree that Fitz is having a very good season?

Call it a career year, call it a fluke, call it fools gold, focus on the perceived limitations, call it what you will, but lets be honest, this is the best and most consistent QB play the Jets have received over the course of an entire single season since Vinny Testaverde in 1998, and please don't say Sanchez, yes we went to the AFC Title Game twice, but he was more of a passenger on those teams than a catalyst, while Fitz (like Vinny in 98) is a catalyst on this team, a huge part of the reason they are in the playoff hunt, and frankly we'd have a better record if other guys were as consistently good as Fitz has been this year. In fact, if I had to vote for a TEAM MVP thru the first 13 Games, Fitz would get my vote and Marshal & Decker would be my co runner-ups, and unless he folds something awful down the stretch, I absolutely DO want him back next year as the incumbent starter. If we get off to a bad start and we want to make the switch to Petty, fine, but so long as Fitz keeps playing like this, he's playing like a QB you can win with, especially with a strong complimentary defense. Again, if this proves to be a "career year" and his play obviously falls off, then make the switch to Petty, but IMO he's earned the right to stay with this team and enter 2016 as the incumbent starter, provided he doesn't fold down the stretch.

We may have a better shot catching the Bengals

Assuming your right about smaller LB's , Lattimore might be your guy. Henderson is actually bigger then Davis.

Appox weights: Lattimore- 230 Davis-240 Henderson-250

Lattimore might see a few more reps, Bowles mentioned him in his presser today. If it's speed your looking for to contain Mariota, again, it won't be Henderson. Davis is actually fast, and a side line to side line player. He ran a 4.6 at the combine. He just takes bad angles in coverage, but like I said, he is very effective against the run. Henderson ran a 4.73 We'll see how it plays out on Sunday

Demario Davis played more this week: 46 of 61 snaps (75 percent). Erin Henderson played 15. Jamari Lattimore 28 #nyj

If they get some help.
Your right they will need some help. Didn't realize it but if the Jets, Chiefs and Steelers win out then the Steelers get the tie breaker. They announced it on one of the networks yesterday and I thought the Jets had the tie breaker but they actually don't.

Its complicated, I can explain the tiebreakers but the bottom line is, while the Jets currently own the tiebreaker over Pittsburgh, thats why we are listed as the Wildcard with them chasing us, if both teams were to win out Pittsburgh would gain the tiebreaker advantage over the Jets. Again, I can explain why, but why bother, the bottom line is its true.

For us to hold off Pitt we either have to finish with a better record, which is to say, run the table and hope they lose one more game, or, if we lose the Dallas game this week then win the last two, and if Pitt wins 2 of their remaining 3, all AFC Games for Pitt, we would win the tiebreaker due to a better conference record. Like I said, its complicated, but a lot less complicated if we just win our remaining games and hope Pittsburgh or KC loses one.
