Mehta and Cimini got their man Idzik fired. Fans followed their lead. Then Woody caved. Mehta and Cimini must be high-fiving each other "We did it!"

Francessa is only partially successful because he still doesn't like Woody as the owner.

Now we have Charlie Casserly selecting our Head Coach. In all seriousness, I'd prefer Cimini and Mehta make the selection. Cut out the middleman. At least Cimini and Mehta have never hired Norv Turner 49-59, Ritchie Petitbon 4-12, and Dom Capers (49-80) as Head Coach. With Cimini and Mehta selecting the Head Coach, think of all the good press we'll receive!

The decision to retain Casserly to select a HC? No one says anything about that?? It's a fact that he hasn't had a good record in selecting NFL Head Coaches. Where's the press on that? Cimini & Mehta have nothing to say about that? Is it because he's one of them?

I much fear Casserly's input on this. Wolf not so much.

I don't think the press wants them to fail. I just think they're not satisfied reporting the news, they want to effect change. In this case they let personal ill will for Idzik play a role.

And what about Casserly's obvious poor record in selecting Head Coaches? They let that go?

Yes, I know. That's the easy part. The difficult part is trying to determine what caused them to lose 12 games and what caused them to win 4 games. And you can't just guess or read Cimini and Mehta and follow the crowd. You need to really sit down with an open mind and analyze it.

Lack of offensive talent, inability of the coaching staff to develop the talent they were given, red zone inefficiency, lack of discipline, poor clock management, poor gameplanning, poor execution, lack of in game adjustments, sloppy tackling, inability to cause turnovers, inability to consistently rush the passer, gave up too many big plays, inability to get off the field in big spots, inability to stop the opposing offense in close sing minutes of half and game, too many turnovers on offense, dropped passes, missed blocks, repeated penalties, poor judgement in player personnel, coordinator positions, and staff, inefficient use of cap space, missed opportunities in free agency, poor drafting, blown coverages, poor scouting, bad luck, poor officiating, lack of effort at times, mental mistakes, bad play calling. Out coached, out classes, out played.

That's actually not what Fatboy said.

He said the Giants either have to commit to Coughlin with a multi year deal or let him go. Not to go year to year with him.

He never said Coughlin was too old or that the game had passed him by. He was pretty clear about that.

But, I can see how that fact might escape the common listener.

It's the truth Roger. You know as well as anyone that many of those reasons you threw out on that list were not the reason the Jets lost 20 games in 20 years (or the games they lost over the past 6 years for that matter).
