The New York Jets were originally named the Titans because in Harry Wismer's eyes, "A Titan is bigger and stronger than Giants".
And the name was changed to the Jets because Jets fly higher and faster then Tinkerbelle..

When the Jets moved to Giants Stadium, they should have have changed their name back to "Titans".

The real reason we changed the name was just like we call the Patriots the Pats and Jaguars the Jag's Hess's wife got pissed when fans started calling the Titans the Tits..:apologetic:

Actually 3 years, a losing record, missed payrolls, bankrupt, announced crowds of 27,000 of which 25689 came disguised as empty seats, a great tradition
Two positives only...Don Maynard and Larry Grantham
Wahoo was on the Jets 1964 and 1965 I think he still holds the team record with 23 tackles in a game.. Besides Grantham and Maynard there was Bill Mathis and Dick Christy..We had a LB'er in 1963 that played most of his career with the Browns named Walt Michaels who played just 1 game and Weeb hired him as his DC..LOL
