Last year Quinn all but had the Browns job wrapped up, then about a week and a half before the Super Bowl, the Browns panicked. Watching all the other HC candidates, and good coaching staffs get scooped up, they started hiring CS people, then Pettine as HC. A week after the Super Bowl their GM was fired after having put the CS in place. How crazy is that?

Quinn got left in the cold. I suspect he won't make the same mistake again. It is possible he has indicated to more then one team he will take their job if offered. They all seem to be waiting.

I like the direction the Jets are heading in, but it is a very slippery slope

The media outlets seem to think the Jets are the frontrunners for Quinn. That may well be true however, like I said, no one has hired a HC which is quite strange. I've also read from numerous insiders that the Jets like Bowles also. I wonder when Maccagnan does officially become GM if that may change the dynamics at all.

He wouldn't be hired if he didn't like Quinn and according to Quinn's friends who can talk to the Media said the Jets are Quinns first choice. No one has hired a HC because the teams not in the playoffs really don't need one right now do they?

I agree with you that Maccagnan, who has had extensive meetings with the Jets staff this week, is very likely in agreement with HC evaluations. The reason I brought up that no team has hired a HC is that it never has gone this long without at least one team making a hire.

I'm not a big baseball fan but I knew a Astro fan who was shocked that he made it.. If you looked at Gale Sayers stats you would say what is this guy doing in the HOF?? Unless of course you were there to see him play.. Cumar was a good durable back but he wasn't great.. How many players get to play with a HC they love and when he leaves gets a OC that was his college HC that loved him?? Martin first 6 years in the league under 4 ypc 3 of them.When Hackett became OC not under 4 again ever wonder why? Even when he won the rushing title in 04 he needed more carries then anyone else to win by a yard thanks to not 1 but 2 overtime games in 2004..

I think if he doesn't go to TV Rex goes to Atlanta,Marrone to the Bears and Bowles to SF..

1 I've been listening to " media" reports for the past 44 years, so I know what that's about
2 as for the " process " I think it's all BS
If you have all this " creative management " input towards you next coach , you know who that is already. IMO
Any who , I hope it's not Bowles

Peter King on NBC says Qinn is the leading candidate for the Jets. Looks good.
