Jets offered an extension to Marshall. He declined and asked for his release.

to go to the Patriots, or another team that is likely to compete to make the playoffs.

The Cowboys should make a run at him. And I'm glad he is gone.

I have no problem with this and suspect that the extension was actually a structured pay cut.

Marshall's farewell was like an academy award speech.

Its becoming abundantly clear that we're tearing this whole thing down and building the team the right way. We will probably have to endure a tough year or two (or three), but it's worth it to me.

Im afraid Decker might be next. That one's gonna sting. Decker is a good player and a good dude. We'll miss him.

Well the Jets are definitely tearing it apart. Not sure if they know how to build the team the right way.

I really liked Marshall. I thought he was a great player and a leader. Yes he had flaws but he was the best Wideout we've had in a while. Wide receivers were our strength. Between Marshall, Enunwa and Decker. Let's hope that Enunwa and Robby Anderson can take the next step

Brandon, baby.
Text me when you're packed and at the player's gate. I'll pick you up and drive to the airport.

I think we'll be the Cleveland Browns next year :(

This isn't a one-year thing. I'm fine with that. One-year fixes never get you to the promised land. They may make you competitive, but they never make you great.

Let me ask you this: Would you rather be horrible in 2017 and 2018, but building for a loaded team for 2019 and beyond? Or would you rather do the patchwork answer of filling holes with aging free agents, only to be a wild card contender in 2017 and 2018, but then having the same problems and being no closer to a title in 2019?

I'd rather do the rebuild right, even if it takes time, than do the patented Tannenbaum patchwork fix. I don't care about competing for a wild card. I've seen that before. Been there. I want a team that is a legit title contender, and I'm willing to see the team suck for a couple years to make that happen.

Me too. But whatever happened to the "worst to first" effect?

I am sorry the door did not hit him in the as_. Let "Decker head" go also. This is what I wanted two years ago.....I guess better later then never.

The only reason why the Jets have to blow the whole thing is because our management has done a horrific job over the years on building up a core. A good team always has a small group of players that are the foundation of the team and then build around those players. Unfortunately, we drafted like crap over the years and never added talent to the little talent we had.

That's the only reason why blowing it up makes sense. I hope we can figure it out this time or these next few dreadful seasons will be for nothing.

The cupboard isn't exactly bare. The team did well hitting on a talented defensive line. Williams is a star in the making, Wilkerson played hurt last season and WILL bounce back, and Richardson is a stud but he's redundant and not worth the financial commitment.

Bilal Powell, Quincy Enunwa, Brian Winters were all good draft picks. Jordan Jenkins played well for a rookie. The jury is still out on Lee, Peake, and Mauldin.

The Jets haven't been great with the draft, but I don't think they've been that bad either.
