Braden Galloway Scouting ReportBraden quickly secures and protects the ball after plucking the pass from the air. He tracks the ball well and adjust to off target throws. He has a strong, athletic frame with room for additional muscle mass. He has extremely good, soft, natural hands. He consistently makes the clean catch. He has good vision to set up blocks. Galloway is not quick enough to elude in tight quarters, but he does the awareness to take advantage of a defenders miss step. He looks to get involved downfield and is a willing blocker. He tends to make multiple downfield blocks on a single play when he can. He understands his role as a blocker.

Braden GallowayAreas for ImprovementGalloway lacks the size and has a lean build. He is considered short stature and average length. He has a smallish frame with underwhelming power. He has little muscle definition. He does not break away many tackles or do enough after contact. He has tight hips, limited long speed. He is not naturally explosive. He is not an in line blocker. He has a weak base. More of a glider, moves faster than he appears but lacks top end speed to be a real threat down the seasm.

Braden Galloway Career at ClemsonBraden Galloway played tight end and quarterback at nearby Seneca HS. He had 50 receptions for 834 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior. He suffered a foot injury that forced him to miss six weeks. As a true freshman in 2018, he registered five receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown in 87 snaps over 12 games. Prior to the 2018 College Football Playoff, Galloway and two teammates (one of which was eventual 17th overall pick Dexter Lawrence) tested positive for ostarine, a muscle-building aid, and Galloway was suspended for a calendar year. He has maintained his innocence, and given that ostarine has been known to make its way into supplements without being stated on the label, Galloway could very well have done nothing wrong. Either way, it’s something that will come up during the 2022 draft cycle, and something he’ll have to answer for. Following season, Braden only played 65 snaps across the final two games of the season. Entering 2020, Galloway caught 27 receptions for 369 yards and two touchdowns in 463 snaps over 12 games (all starts). He was All ACC Academic Team selection. In 2021, Braden gained 13 yards on three receptions vs. No. 5 Georgia and added a reception vs. Georgia Teach.

He tracks it well in the air. Braden has very good speed which shows up when he beats linebackers up the seam. He is very fluid and flexible throughout his entire frame. His basketball background is apparent when he boxes out defenders. He lines up in line and in the slot. He possesses a powerful strike operating at favorable angles. He displays his power especially when he lowers the shoulder, defenders bounch off him.
