Kenyon Green Scouting Report

Kenyon Green plays with excellent leverage. He gets lower than any of his teammates so he can engage the opponent with his exceptional hand technique and powerful punch. He consistently plays with a low pad level. He is able to manipulate with his hand placement, leverage and strength. Green gets to the second level with ease. He explodes off the snap with athleticism and violence.

At his size of 325 pounds his overall play speed is impressive. This allows him to be a force in the gorund game in many ways. He gets out to the second level with ease. He moves well across the formation as a pulling guard with violence that routinely ends in success. Green excels in the ground game, he has the tools to be an incredible pass protector. His footwork is excellent, allowing him to get into his pass sets efficiently.

Areas for Improvement

His aggression can lead to him lunging at the opposition. As a result, with his weight too far forward, there are examples of him losing balance and hitting the ground. This is more apparent as he attempts to work vertically. He needs to ensure that he is consistently sealing off his opposition when he gets there. Ensuring the correct use of angles will help to spring even more significant run gains.

Kenyon Green Career at Texas A&M

Despite being the leader for his signature for the longest time, Green was a major recruiting coup for the Aggies. They hadn’t secured a five-star commitment since 2015. Furthermore, they’d failed to land the No. 1 prospect in Texas since 2014. As a result, there was a sense of expectation for the young offensive lineman. Green delivered in style.

Although he’d played offensive tackle for Atascocita, he made the switch inside for Texas A&M. Following his debut against Texas State, Green started every game of his true freshman season at right guard. He helped carve open running lanes, allowing the Aggies to have several games with multiple 100+ yard rushers, including in his first game. Green’s performances at guard for Texas A&M earned him both internal and external attention. Upon the conclusion season, he was named the team’s Offensive Top Newcomer. Additionally, he was recognized with a place on the SEC All-Freshman team.

Kenyon Green NFL Draft Player Profile

Between 2013-2016, the Texas A&M Aggies had an offensive lineman selected in the first round of the draft every year. Since then, however, only three players from the position have heard their name called. In the 2022 NFL Draft, offensive guard Kenyon Green should restore the Aggies’ reputation as a breeding ground for first-round talent. Green’s early scouting report details why he may well be the most dominant offensive lineman in college football this season.

With his recruitment wrapped up, Green could focus on his senior season. The dominant offensive lineman wrapped up his time at Atascocita in award-winning style. He was named an Under Armour and Army All-American, the Houston Area UIL Offensive Player of the Year, and earned first-team honors from Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.
