Travell Harris Scouting ReportTravell has excellent speed. He is very quick and fluid as an athlete. He has excellent change of direction on one step. He has exceptional agility. Harris has incredible body control. He show some phenomenal movement agility, especially as a route runner. Travell has smooth acceleration, with clean footwork through breaks. He runs crisp routes and advanced route tree between the two systems that he played in. He is a very nuance route runner. He has excellent release ability. He has a very strong stutter step that makes defenders hesitate. Travell offers a good, strong catch radius. He goes low and high when needed. He offers a solid deep threat as well because of his speed from the slot. He has good field vision, and he is very creative after the catch. He is a capable run blocker, fairly consistent.

Areas for ImprovementHarris struggles in the run pass option scheme that the Cougars ran. He is a capable fairly consistent run blocker that could improve his physical point of attack. He has faced off man coverage where his speed can take advantage of but he has rarely faced press man coverage nor has he been jammed at the line of scrimmage. The key is can he get off of a jam? He has concentration drops.

Travell Harris Career at Washington StateTravell attended Jesuit High School in Tampa, Fla. and played for coach Matt Thompson. As a SENIOR, named 5A All-State second-team after catching 22 passes for 592 yards and nine touchdowns…also rushed for 250 yards and two touchdowns. He recorded 41 tackles and three interceptions. In 2017, he redshirt his freshman season. Travell was named All-Pac-12 Conference honorable mention as a kick returner and named Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention (3.29 GPA, undeclared). He appeared in all 13 games, started first nine games at the H receiver and caught 27 passes for 309 yards with one touchdown. Travell named to Paul Hornung Watch List (Most Versatile Player) adn was named Preseason All Pac 12 Conference honorable mention as a kick returner. He caught 47 passes for 536 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 23.4 yards per return on 33 kick returns for 773 yards. Redshirt junior campaign, Harris was named All-Pac-12 Conference Honorable Mention…named to All-Pac-12 Third Team by Phil Steele and he caught 29 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns. This past season as a redshirt senior, Travell was named to Paul Hornung Award Watch List (Most Versatile Player) and named to Preseason All-Pac-12 Third Team (Athlon). He also was named Preseason All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention (Pac-12). |
Travell Harris NFL Draft Player ProfileTravell Harris would appear to fit in any spread-style scheme in the NFL, carving a speed role in special situations. He also offers some early special teams ability as teams try to allow him to adjust to the speed of the NFL. Speed can’t be taught, and Harris has it. That will give him a chance at the next level.
