Andrew Parchment Scouting Report

Andrew has a knack for getting open and is a quarterback's best friend - passers just need to toss the ball in his area and he'll come down with it. He has long arms to stiff-arm defensive backs in the open field. He is willing to lower his pads to run through tackles for extra yardage. He goes over the middle, can spin out of tackles and take the big hit.

Andrew is quicker than fast and lacks elite wheels to simply blow by defenders, but he has good football speed. He does not possess top breakaway speed, though he's rarely caught from behind. He does not have exceptional straight-line speed but takes advantage of open seams when his quarterback is on target.

Areas for Improvement

Parchment hands are good, not great. Will drop some easy balls and sometimes will body catch. He occasionally fails to high point. He is not a burner or consistent vertical threat. Has a lanky frame and will be overmatched physically by most cornerbacks in the NFL.

Parchment needs to be more competitive in tight coverage. He is inconsistent high-pointing passes. He allows too many throws into his body when facing the quarterback. He will have limitations against physical cornerbacks because of his thin frame. If locked up at the line, he lacks the upper-body strength to fight off the press with his hands.

Parchment enrolled as a junior at Kansas. Earned Honorable Mention All-Big 12 accolades at the conclusion of the season as both a wide receiver and the league’s Offensive Newcomer of the Year. Named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week following the West Virginia game. Started all 12 games at WR for the Jayhawks. KU’s leading receiver for the year with 65 catches for 831 yards and seven touchdowns.

Andrew Parchment NFL Draft Player Profile

Parchment shows enough speed, the ability to get on a defensive backs goes, and separate at the stem of the route. The other thing that is nice to see is Parchment can win at the line of scrimmage against press coverage. He shows he can twist/turn both ways, hand-eye, and come down with the catch. It also helps down in the redzone, that he can track, high point, and twist to make a grab.
