Zaire Mitchell Scouting ReportZaire is a big man, standing at 6'8". He flashes the ability to make the outstanding catch. He gets off the line quickly and with ease. He dips his shoulder and shows some savvy route running ability. He is a willing blocker. He has enough speed to challenge the seam. He gives good effort at the point of attack high pointing the ball as a pass catcher. He plays hard and with awareness, he displays excellent spatial awareness. Mitchell has soft hands and shows good tracking ability and body control to make catches outside his frame. He has reliable hands and is a natural ball skills to adjust to off target throws. He runs with toughness and sheds tacklers in the secondary.

Areas for ImprovementMitcehll lacks the ideal functional strength a man his size. He is a willing blocker but lacks an imposing frame. He needs to add bulk and strength to his upper body. His lower body strength is questionable and limits his in line blocking. He can be bull rushed, because the lack of balance due to his power stance with leverage.

Zaire Mitchell Career at SchoolZaire Mitchell attended Richard Montgomery High School. During his senior year, caught 24 passes for 431 yards with seven TD. Also played basketball and was part of the track team at RMHS. Zaire enrolled at Notre Dame and played from 2017 - 2020. At Notre Dame College Zaire caught 90 passes for 1,206 yards in four seasons. The 2020 season was shortened and pushed to the spring, but in five games he hauled in 14 balls for 182 yards. Mitchell-Paden had his best year was his junior season, with 53 receptions for 573 yards and six touchdowns. As a graduate transfer, Mitchell-Paden enrolled at Florida Atlantic for the 2021 season with a year of eligibility he totaled 9 receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown.

Zaire Mitchell NFL Draft Player ProfileZaire Mitchell is one of the most complete tight ends in the NFL Draft. He is a much better pass catcher than blocker, but he can get it done if needed. I love this kids athletic ability and size. You do not find many small schoolers built like him. Especially, guys that have production with the size. Mitchell is a rare breed and he could end up being one of the best deicisons of Willie Taggert’s career. The FAU Owls are getting a stud in Zaire Mitchell
