Jacub Panasiuk Scouting Report

Jacub is relentless, tenacious worker on and off the field. Plays faster than he'll time with football quickness and footwork. He flashes strength at the point of attack with active, violent hand use. He is forceful with his upper body to defeat blocks. Strong hustle player.

Jacub wins with all-out hustle, second and third effort and will contribute in the NFL. He is a borderline top-100 draft pick who isn't flashy and won't have great workout numbers, but simply makes plays on the football field. He plays with leverage at the point of attack whether inside or outside. Keeps eyes in the backfield when inside; moves linemen to either side with strong hands.

Areas for Improvement

Panasiuk plays tall, lacks athleticism to break down against elusive ballcarriers. He is not an elite athlete with average functional strength and size. Lacks the length to fend off blocks and can be too energetic and lose his angle. Doesn't have a natural position at the next level.

Jacub hands aren't strong or active enough to disengage consistently. Gets good push, but will not bull rush NFL tackles. He misses tackles, even when he gets his hands on the ballcarrier. Needs to improve hand placement and technique. He doesn't have the elite quickness or flexibility to flatten off the edge against NFL blockers and might have to add bulk to be a 3-4 defense five-technique, or strong-side end in a 4-3.

Jacub Panasiuk Career at School

Five-year letter winner played in a school-record 57 games during his Spartan career, including 43 starts at defensive end. Jacub returned for his fifth season with the Spartans in 2021. He finished his career with 142 tackles, including 32 for losses (169 yards) and 16 sacks (111 yards). He also had six pass break-ups, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries and closed his career ranked 11th in MSU history with 16 sacks and 13th with 32 TFLs. Panasiuk had streak of starting 29 consecutive games, before missing Penn State game in 2020 due to injury, just the second game missed of career and also ranked No. 5 on MSU’s career forced fumbles list (5).

Jacub Panasiuk NFL Draft Player Profile

Panasiuk has high motor and his ability to consistently get in the backfield and disrupt an offense. While he may be done growing physically, he still is a little raw and has room to grow as a pass rusher.
