Amari Carter Scouting ReportAmari is a tough, physical hard nosed football player that instills fear into the opposition. He is someone that can set the tone with ferocious, bone jarring hits. He makes opposing receivers wary of coming across the middle. He possesses good straight line speed. He has fluid hips to turn and run, and explosiveness out of his breaks. Amari closes to the ball quite well and possesses the hands to snatch throws away from his frame. He has good football acumen, awareness and displays impressive general intelligence. He has good instincts and anticipates exceptionally well. He takes sharp angles to the ballcarriers and plays with excellent balance to deliver a pop.

Areas for ImprovementCarter plays with an aggressive nature, needs to play with more discipline at the next level his thumping style may get the flag called for unnecessary roughness, or hit on a defenseless player. He needs to show better tackling technique to consistently finish rather looking to tee off with a thump hit. He needs to show that he can effectively shed blocks and cover in the seam.

As a true freshman, he saw action in all 13 games in his first season. He finished with 26 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss. He totaled two sacks, and one forced fumble. He was Miami's top impact player on special teams. Carter's sophmore campaign, he saw action in 12 of 13 games. He made two starts. He finished with 12 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss with one sack and three pass breakups. His junior year he saw action in all 13 games and made five starts.
