49ers will regret picking Bosa over Quinnen

Some of you will recall I said this before the draft, so clearly I'm not just being a homer because the 49ers took Bosa and we took Q.

What did I say before the draft?

1. Quinnen Williams is the best player in the draft, better than Bosa, and it's really not that close. Quinnen Williams is a wrecking machine.

2. No matter how hard I searched, and I searched a lot, the worst injury I could find in Q's history was a pinky injury.

3. When I studied Bosa's history I found a torn ACL his Senior year in H.S. and a groin/abdominal tear in 2018, both requiring season-ending surgery. So that's two out of the last four years that he went down with a serious injury that required surgery. BTW his brother Joey has been in the league 3 years and he's missed 13 or 14 Games due to injuries as well, so this family has great genes when it comes to talent, but not so much when it comes to durability.

All things considered, YES, I admit it, I was rooting on draft night (RD 1) for the Cardinals to take Murray and the 49ers to take Bosa.

When that happened I just hoped the Jets would take the best player in the draft and run.

True, I overvalued him early on, but whoever takes him in fantasy football this year will not be disappointed.

I don't play FF anymore, but he'll be a steal in the third round or later.

aside from his injuries, bosa is a bad seed & i'm thankful he's not a jet..

the guy makes me sick just looking at him..

Not too many people agree with you. It was pretty much unanimous that Bosa was right there with Q. Williams as the two best players in this draft. I think people jump on the “injury prone” label too quickly. There are plenty of examples of guys who get injured a couple of times, and then never get injured again. But knee jerk reactions facilitate the injury prone label.

I think Bosa’s going to be an above average player at worst. With that said, I’m glad we got Q because I believe he was the best player in the draft, and the Polite pickup could pay huge dividends.

And yet you graded the Jet draft at a "D." I would think the first pick alone would warrant a "C," at least, even if the rest of the picks did not address any needs. But at least some of the remaining picks did address needs. Gotta give that at least a "C," overall, no? Please justify the overall grade of "D."

Loved the first two picks, even said so in the draft thread when we made them, but I hated everything we did afterwards. When that poll was posted I was still fuming over the rest of the draft and voted on that basis, but in fairness I agree with you, that should have made the overall grade a C, not a D. Too impulsive based on how I felt at the moment. I still don't like what we did after Polite, none of it, but I'm willing to keep am open-mind. What choice do I have? Can't brood on it forever. I want them to succeed because I want the team to succeed, and we can't get a do-over on those picks.
