Some think that the Jets overpaid for him. Opinions like those are based on the current contract and playing time. If Rodgers restructures, and plays more seasons than expected, then the trade with Green Bay will have turned into a bargain.

This deal is absolutely sensational. How often does a player give back money to help a team? Brady took less for a while in New England, but that was because his wife at the time was making even more than he was.

Hopefully this answers any and all questions about how much of a commitment Rodgers is making to the Jets.

Fantastic deal. Non guaranteed 3rd year at $37mm…. Which i can see him doing with the hit spread out over 2 additional years . I see Aaron playing at lest 3 seasons with this structure, and maybe 4 if we can win a title in the next 2 years

Yes but the Patriots were selling his magic water at the stadium and buying it from his corporation to funnel him his pay cut under the cap...

Plus he was pretty much guaranteed home field advantage with that team and the state of the rest of the afc, especially the horrid afc east.

Rodgers is coming to a very different afc. Especially the east

Arod finally has a franchise that at least listens to his opinion. While the results haven't materialized yet, it certainly sheds light on how the Packers treat their stars. Who says the business side can't add a little personality. Either that or the Jets are desperate enough to give it a try. Go figure, Zach's base pay is higher this year and the 35MM is the total contract Zach signed rookie year. If Arod plays 2024 that puts the Jets in an interesting position. Zach will be entering his option year 2025.
