Darnold is coming back. I feel it in my bones.
That number could work in our favor because I think he is only getting around 14 per year right now and we could afford that. I still think they will try to hold onto him though because he is clearly a difference maker.
they are going have to pay Mitch Trubisky since it looks like he is back at the helm as the starting QB
at worst they franchise Mitch for $40 M
they have a lot of other priority free agents
so they may consider drafting a WR, because of cost

This is reasonable, but, what if he wants to stay bad enough to accept a team friendly deal ? I don't think I've ever heard him complain about his status there. It's obvious you want him here and I admit I would like that as well but I have no faith the Jets will accomplish this deal.
I think he will test free agency to see what type of offers he can command...
If anything he may want to go back home to Detroit but not certain...
He chose Chicago but who knows maybe he has had enough as he took down the Chicago parts of some of his social media accounts...

Franchise tag for QB is roughly $25 mill. No where near 40.
ok what I meant they would likely cut or try to trade Nick Foles and eat about $7 M plus that franchise tag on Mitch would swell that cost to over 30 M no way they can afford to bring back Allen
