Obviously you haven't paid attention to what I think of Wilson.
I haven't. But there are some here who act like we have the Lombardy trophy in the bag with the Wilson, the coaching staff, and the current GM.

Baker would be a distraction
Yes that thought has occurred to me. But the possibility of a distraction is just a factor to consider...I'm not sure it's a deal breaker.

He was given everything needed to succeed and he didn't.
No. Just no.
There is only one person on here that is like that with Wilson. Most are cautiously optimistic. I'm just not sure what to make of Wilson. The Browns know they hit their peak with Baker. Even with a playoff caliber roster he won't be able to get them to a SB. If the Jets went hard after Watson I would be all in. I'm just not ruining this team with Baker. I've also been critical of Joe Douglas, but I do think he is the best GM since Parcells ran the show.

I liked Tannenbaum...it's very early to have any praise for Douglas.

i can see that, and the truth is, i hope JD knows when the time is right to let his "inner Tanny" out...

The Bad on Tannenbaum. Tannenbaum would have brought in Chandler Jones, Robinson, and Marcus Williams "this" offseason; and work a way to mortgage the future to do it. he wouldn't have gone for a plurality of solid depth guys now. he wouldn't have allowed for draft flexibility this year for a team that needs to be better in all positions..

The Good on Tannebaum... see above "if" you have an otherwise solid roster. Tanny is to The Jet's GM as Herm was to the Jets HC's; he can put cherries on top of a ready made sundae, but he couldn't turn a disaster into winner or manage a decline for a quick rebuild.

i also get the skepticism on JD too... who is the household name he drafted? who is the complete difference maker he signed?

Juries out on the Kid. S till think He looks like my 12 yr old grandson. Funny Thing is a pissed off Baker Mayfield may not be a bad thing. He has Colts written all over Him IMO if He ever gets out of Cleveland.

as Jet fans, I don't think anyone here is all in on anyone until they have actually done something huge. We are too used to the monstrous atrocities of this organization

I think we all see that JD is doing things in a way that looks like it should be the right way. I , for one, like the game plan that he seems to have for the Jets. If it works, it should build us long term success. I don't think we have had this much reason for hope since Parcells. Maybe Rex, a little

As for Wilson, I have nothing yet. I need to see what he does this year.

While we have added some nice new toys, we still need them to be able to gel together. When Belichick created the cheatahs, he went to a team with plenty of Parcells guys who already knew the system. Then year 2 he added about a dozen former Jets who also knew the system. This made his job much easier than Saleh and Lafleurs as they don't have this luxury of having a bunch of players to help teach their system.

other than that, things look better and there is hope

we can go many ways in this draft but if we keep both 4 and 10, we should be able to get 2 important pieces of need

ok. getting to long. signing out

Never was the biggest Baker fan. However, I'm 100% behind him in this case. Good for him for not playing chump!

The Browns have completely screwed themselves. Now they need to move Baker….and every team knows it, so he probably wont fetch much. Would I have an objection to trading for him? No. Personally, and I have said this all along (and I’ll probably be blown outta the box on this one), Zach Wilson is Baker Mayfield all over again. They both have ability, and both can be decent. But they are both game manager type QB’s, and if you ask them to do too much, they will falter and make mistakes. But if you trade for Baker, then trade Zach. They cant coexist on the same team. One may say you can give less for Baker and get more for Zach, netting out a plus for the team, but if the net sum is negligible, why not keep the younger version of Mayfield…..Zach
