All you need to know is, he's not on the field! Until he plays well on a regular basis, he's a bust. Watch, he'll shine in year 4 when his rookie contract is about up.

After about 5 minutes of this video, I think I like him at RT.
I forgot all about injuries happen in football, thanks. Look, I'm rooting for him, but, he has to play. Until then, he's just a big oaf that can't stay on the field. How long are we suppose to hold onto that rookie season?
His mom is a caterer. His dad is obese. Mehki will be struggle with his weight. There were reports of him being overweight at beginning of training camp. Then pics of him pushing trucks. And then reports of Carl Lawson destroying him in practice. Red Flags everywhere.

We can discuss it all day. So far we have seen a few dominant plays. Lots of games missed. And not enough meals missed. He is extremely athletic with a huge upside, but my fear is his huge weight upside.
Linderbaum is a bit undersized in terms of weight and girth, meaning lower body...
At this level he won't be able to constantly absorb power and will be knocked off his stance, you know leverage (his balance will be put into question)...
Tyler Linderbaum is an athletic center but there is tape of him getting blown up against more powerful interior defensive linemen and some linebackers... Being only a center for any team that drafts him will only be able to play him at center if and when he is ready to compete at this level... He has good football IQ, and functional play ability but for certain teams it is a hard pass...

the man did the right thing he hired help to get back on the field his playing ability is unmatched and when he is ready to go this off season there is no contest he will take his job back, he is younger and has more of a powerful initial punch... there is no denying that LaFleur had his guys from day one but he will have to change his idea of who belongs and who doesn't... LaFleur will have to be open to a real competition and see that the longevity and future is with Becton not Fant...

100% Agreed... For a young man, LaFleur seems to be a veterans coach, and has a tendency to allow younger guys wallow to "figure it out" on their own.
the only red flag to me are the signs of clinical depression...they were exacerbated by Lawson routing him in camp. Football was the one thing he relied on for control; a means of domination over his demons. Lawson F'd that up!
people with depression feel out of control and overwhelmed; his weight is a byproduct of depression, not the cause.
the good news is that it is something that can also be an accelerant out of depression as well, because if he masters his weight, (1.) he in turn gains control, (2.) which leads to self assurance, (3.) which leads to psychological growth and maturity.
as fans, we forget these massive men are kids trying to absorb living in a fishbowl, newly found fame, newly found riches.
don't root for him at Left or Right Tackle, root for him to gain control and beat depression...everything else takes care of itself.
