Blaze Alldredge Scouting ReportBlaze shows a good burst when closing. He flashes explosive hitting ability and good lateral motion with downfield pursuits. He has a good combination of size and athleticism worthy of development. He keeps his feet moving after initial contact. He needs to get stronger to do more damage at the point of attack. He has streaky instincts and anticipation. Blaze reads quarterbacks eyes and reacts quickly to target in zone coverage. He is a tough between-the-tackles defender who shimmies past blockers to fill lanes. He works hard to get better and gives top effort on every play. He is a heads up defender who shows good field awareness.

Areas for ImprovementAlldredge is below average in terms of pursuit quickness and he gets too upright as a pass rusher. He needs to play with better leverage. He looks to be a one speed player, lacking dynamic qualities and does not look natural in reverse. He lacks the fluidity to be consistent droping against the pass with unpolished cover skills.

Blaze Alldredge Career at SchoolBlaze Alldredge was a two-year starter for coach Jay Sobke. He was a member of the Orlando Sentinel’s Central Florida Super60 as a senior and compiled 170 tackles in two seasons, including 128 as a junior. He added 17 tackles for loss (six sacks), caused five fumbles, recovered three and had one interception. In 2017 at Los Angeles Pierce College, Blaze was third leading tackler as a freshman. He was credited with 88 tackles in 10 games. He also recorded nine tackles for loss including two sacks, he broke up four passes and intercepted two others and blocked a pair of kicks for the Brahmas. At Rice (2018-20), Alldredge was a two time George Martin Award winner as team MVP. He was first defensive player in school history to win the award in consecutive years. In his sophomore campaign he racked up 65 tackles, 31 of them in the last three games of the season. In 2019, he led the team in tackles with 102, had 21.5 for loss and 4 sacks. Nominated a team captain in 2020 he registered 47 tackles in five games. In 2021 Blaze transferred to Missouri and compiled a good season, recording 89 tackles with 4.5 sacks. He also forced and recovered a fumble on the season. |
