Brian Callahan won’t be joining the Jets coaching staff

Last week reports indicated the Jets were interviewing former Lions quarterbacks coach Brian Callahan for a job on their offensive coaching staff. It wasn’t entirely clear whether he was interviewing for the vacant offensive coordinator job or the quarterbacks coach job that will be vacant if the team officially promotes Jeremy Bates.

The question is now moot as the Raiders have hired Callahan to their coaching staff.

Callahan is a fairly hot commodity after the job he did with the Lions. With that in mind, it would have been nice to see the Jets land him. With that said, I have some skepticism about these coaches who get hyped based on one stop early in their careers. Sometimes these guys do not pan out in a new stop.

There are also a number of quality coaches the Jets can still bring in for either job. The search continues for the team.

The Jets have Blowes as their HC. So it's no wonder why all of these coaches are going other places. they want to be in places where there is offensive talent (The Jets do not have any), particularly at QB, they also want to go to a place where they won't need to be worrying all the time. Blowes has now had 3 OC's in 4 seasons. Most of these coaches must feel as though they are walking on egg shells around him? That's not exactly conducive to creating a comfortable working environment.

Honestly, what I am seeing at this point is suspected reverse racism? Kacy Rogers has been disappointing over and over again and yet he is untouchable. This guy can do no wrong in blowes eyes. However, there's a constant carousel every off season with other coaches in the building?

PLEASE tell me when people will realize this thing for what it is? When will people realize these problems all fall on the HC's shoulders and no one else. How many more times does he get to hire/fire people before fans or the owner realize the problem is with the HC and not the people he's constantly firing?

Bowles is going the Rex Ryan route.
How many offense coordinators did Rex go through, because it could never have been his defense fault.

Enough with the racism stuff. Seriously.

Maybe the biggest reason is the tenuous nature of Bowles being our coach. This could be a one year and out job. OR maybe Callahan wants an OC job and not a QB coach position
