Can someone explain to me our strategy?

Tagging Mo is the easy part. Trading him is the issue. Nobody giving a 1st round pick for a huge contract and a broken leg. And maybe we need to take a few steps back and get much younger. Fitz had his best season he is capable of and still couldn't win the game he had to. Fitz, Mo and Snacks want way more than they are worth and we don't have enough money. Snacks would be a loss but we need to find gas to get after the QB. Snacks is a luxury at this point. I like that Mac is looking to get younger and cheaper. I will let it play out.

The bottleneck here is Mo. At this point I would trade him for a 2nd this year and a conditional 3/4th next year if it meant keeping Snacks, Powell, and signing a LB and an OL. And if D'Brick isn't willing to renegotiate it's time to cut him. And Breno. And Kerley. And Cumberland.

Want to free up Money....

Cut Breno
Cut Cumberland
Cut Kerely

Restructure Brick, Mangold, Marshal and Revis

If done right that could save 30 Mill alone

Sign Fitz 2yrs 28 Mill
Sign Powell 3 yrs 10.5 Mill
Sign Snacks 4 yrs 30 Mill
Sign Mo long term for 4yrs 61.5Mill

Go after Bruce Irvin 4 yrs 30 Mill....

That should be our strategy or plan

Malik Jackson is signing for 6 years 90 million. Mo is definitely going to be looking for north of that neighborhood.

We are losing Snacks and Ivory. We don't have the money. I hope we keep Powell and make some shrewd moves. If you can't get a 2nd for Mo, just let him play out the last year. He's an elite player, and hopefully he can help us make a run his last yr here. We need to draft extremely well this yr lol

To me, the entire system is currently locked up in the logjam at DE. Mo, Sheldon, and Leonard right now are three guys for two positions. The problem is, Williams is the obvious one you keep under his rookie deal, Richardson destroyed his trade value with his antics, and Mo's trade value is in question coming off a leg injury.

Dealing Mo for a legit return would open up the money to keep Snacks and Fitz, as well as bringing back a quality pick or two that could address long-term OL and QB issues. Restructuring Brick would do a lot to free up the rest of the money needed, as well.

Not ragging on Mac just yet but it seems to me like we are very keen to retaining our free agents but we are letting them test the market. Not sure how that is ever a good idea with so many teams with a lot more cap money than we have.

These are the people we want to retain:

Demario Davis
Erin Henderson
Snacks
Fitz

Here's the latest example:

Mac is shrewd for sure, I'm really at a loss as far as strategy.

I will offer this thought though. Delaying on Fitz and mo both benefit us. With Fitz, his demands are high, trading the market will only make him cheaper for us. Benefit. Unless some moron like Philly signs him. The opinion of petty may also make mac more confident of parting ways, plus last year's starter is still on the team. Not ideal, but maybe not worth the handicap of 15 mil plus to Fitz.

With Mo, the market and draft are loaded with defensive front guys, and he's rehabbing a broken leg. Right now he's not so shiny. Let the fa talent get signed up, then mo will be the best fa available, especially to a team who feels they lost out on their guy. If nothing worth his talent develops, keep him.

Then you also have a dynamic where you pay mo or Fitz. See where the market takes us and either losing Fitz saves us a12 mil contract, or losing mo gains us draft picks.

For restructures, cimini thinks there's no rush because no bonuses are due soon, but you want cap space to bid opening day on your guys in fa,so his opinion doesn't add up. My only thought would be that brick has agreed to the cut, only if the jets acquire a win now talent, otherwise why take a pay cut to play on a bad team? The jets don't have much leverage because there's Noone to replace him with on the market.

Revis is never taking a pay cut.

Mike Wallace is now available. He might be a good 4th wr paired with forte and Ezekiel. Fitzs money would pay for both, and geno and petty could make strides with that many weapons. And now a down field threat. The only loss would be snacks and the lb core, which we can address in the draft and with minimal fa signings.

Mac is the same guy who was named executive of the year. I'm sure that he has a plan, and I am sure that the plan is of the big picture, let's-build-this-the-right-way-and-be-a-contender-year-in-year-out sort. He'll make some under-the-radar signings, draft well, and get the team younger, faster, and cheaper. I really have a good deal of confidence in him making the right calls, and if that includes not signing Fitz if his price gets too high, then so be it.

this is one reason everyone needs to come down... they are looking for better fit players that will continue building the success we had last season... adding Forte was intricate for the passing attack...

in case we don't retain Bilal Powell we got someone else that is a versatile back coming out of the backfield... adding in signing of return specialist/3rd down back Dri Archer gives another gear out of the backfield... believe there is another kid on the roster Dominique Williams, don't know much about him...

Revis won't take a paycut but a restructure to extend the contract and guarantee more money.... Yes yes he will do
