Can the Jets make the wild card at 9-7?

Just throwing this out there for discussion.

With the nature of the remaining 6 games, maybe 4-2 over those 6 might be possible. A stretch requiring a near-miracle, but possible.

If so, does 9-7 offer any chance?

i think one of or both AFC wildcard will be 9-7..

we obviously haven't done ourselves any favors as far as tiebreakers are concerned but who knows..

i do know we better get an inspired win sunday against miami!!

We need to get into the playoffs hot. If not then it'll be a one and done deal. There is a lot of work to do here in such a small period of time. Lets see what kind of coach Bowles really is.

Nope! I don't think so and thats why I say play Petty now and give him 6 games to see if he can possibly be our future. In fact, I believe (without knowing this for a fact ofcourse) that Petty can win the same 3-4 more games that Fitz can but it won't get us to the playoffs anyway, so why not play him? Funny your started this thread because I just posted a response like this on my thread of asking can we start playing Petty now for the rest of the season.

There is alway a chance & I would be happy if it happened. But I didnt expect Jets to be in Playoffs this year & had them at 8-8 season. But after these last few loses...I'n not sure of 8 wins now. It's sad how little of an impact our dline makes on a game. You'd expect more from a bunch of first rounders

It's hard to figure out. Seems like Bowles is trying to get them all on the field together, in a lot of 4-3 fronts, and it's not really doing much. I haven't seen the kind of pressure that I was expecting. The run defense has been mostly good, but a little more leaky than under Rex. And the pass rush only seems to come from tight coverage downfield.

It's been disappointing. Although Wilkerson has earned his extension, IMO.

The Jets had no option. Under the CBA teams have to spend 89% of all cap over a 4 year period. That window closed this year. The money had to be spent.

With the exception of Revis and Harris, I believe most of the others contracts can be voided at the end of the season, or next, with minimal dead money

i believe cro falls under that category.. thankfully..

i liked the gamble at the time but it hasn't worked out.. obviously..

AGREE ..... I do not think 9-7 makes it for the JETS!!
