Cap Space and Next Steps

So the Jets are about 15 million under the cap - but - stupid question - we need to sign our draft picks out of that? Still we've got room

And one can imagine that Crowder may look too expensive now that Elijah Moore is on board - possible saving of something like 9 million

What can be done by a wise front office with that space

1. Sign second and third tier free agents - there are plenty of guys unsigned - and there will be guys released who may be useful

2. Trade with teams that are in a cap mess and need to open up some space

Saints are over the cap, but I expect when Drew Brees officially retires that gets fixed

Falcons? Bears? over the cap. Some others who have no room and need to make room. Wonder whether they might be interested in parting with a useful but overpriced guy to get cap room.

What opportunities are there here for the Jets?

We have close to 90 players. Can only have so many on a team and I believe we are over the max allowed.
