Chance Campbell Scouting Report

Chance plays with excellent effort in pursuit. He is a sure open field tackler. He has good key and diagnosis skills. He quickly locates the ball and shows no wasted motion in getting to the ballcarrier. He shows explosive lateral agility to avoid blockers. He has experienced vision and smooth anticipation.

Chance flashes strength to punch or stiff arm to get off blocks. He stays with plays downfield, often making tackles even after being hit by multiple linemen. He has a filled out frame with good thickness. He plays at full speed with a motor running hot. He has determined quickness in pursuit.

Areas for Improvement

Campbell has inconsistent read/react skills with streaky awareness when asked to drop in coverage. Is like a bull in a China shop with his aggressive style of play, causing him to play undisciplined and overpursue. He can be too hesitant when he doesn't find the ball immediately. Hits up high and misses more tackles than he should. He's a tweener who lacks the bulk and strength to be a thumper inside and isn't fast enough to stay on the weak side in the NFL. Does not blow up targets. Many inside tackles are catch-and-drags, which will be more difficult to make at the next level.
