If Allen goes first, I think that changes the Giants' pick. Instead of selecting Sequon, they take Darnold. At that point, both guys Elway wants as he future QB are off the board, and he's iching to get Barkley but knows he won't get past the Browns at #4. He tries to trade with the Jets offering #5 and #40. Mac knows that one of his two preferred QB's will be there and is thrilled to be back in round 2. Cleveland, not to be outdone, offers #4 and #35. Mac counters with #4 and #33 and the deal is done.
Cleveland takes Sequon and Mac still has his choice of Rosen or Mayfield.

At first glance, my reaction was “this is wishful thinking”. But honestly, I think anything is possible in this draft. I can see a bunch of teams trying to move up for one of the top 6-7 players in this draft, especially the QB’s.
I’m about 90% sure the Jets stay at #3 and take one of the top QB’s on their board. But if Allen goes to Cleveland at #1, and the Giants don’t take Darnold next, then I believe anything could happen. But Macc has to be sure he doesn’t forget Cleveland at #4 possibly trading out with a QB hungry team, and losing out on a top QB as a result. (I’m sure Macc’s got it under control!)
I cannot remember this type of anticipation of a Jets draft since probably 2000 when we had 4 first rounders. This is gonna be very interesting and entertaining.

Can't see the Jets moving from three and playing a roulette with picking their QB. I'll always wonder though why they didn't contact the Giants for their number 2 pick (both teams have confirmed that). Also, in looking at the deals that are proposed in this thread teams are offering much much less than the Jets had to move up a similar amount of spots. I'd bet if Mac trades down he will want similar compensation to what he gave up. This thing is sounding more and more like the Draft Day movie.

Interesting article in the NY Post today regarding the Giants and what they’ll do with the #2 pick. They think Saquon Barkley or Bradley Chubb will be the pick. Rumor is they like Darnold and Allen, but don’t deem either of them worthy of the #2 pick. Gettleman wants a Hall of Fame caliber player with that pick, and Saquon is the only player they see as filling that requirement.
