DaShaun White NFL Draft Profile
|
DaShaun White Scouting ReportDaShuan flashes closing speed and agility to reach passers from the blind side or up the middle before they can escape. He delivers an explosive pop on contact. Wraps arms securely to make the reliable tackle, but is not technically sound. Gets pressures on inside stunts and was too explosive for college guards to handle. Looks the part. Good height and a thick, muscular build. Long arms. Good overall athleticism and straight-line speed. Handles misdirection well with quick change-of-direction ability. Comes downhill quickly against the run when he has an open lane.

Areas for ImprovementWhite lacks the strength to blow up fullbacks and bulk/length to prevent getting engulfed by better linemen at the second level. He plays with inconsistent hustle. Only adequate change-of-direction ability. Also loses his balance too often in the open field. Lacks size to bull rush stronger tackles. Loses size battle to many tight ends and is easily pushed away on out routes. His lateral agility and burst often put him in position to make big plays, but he takes questionable routes to the ball and struggles to avoid blockers when in pursuit. More of a straight-line athlete with some stiffness in his hips to slow .his change of direction.
