1. Belichick isnt hanging around for 5 years. Tammy will be 38 next August and, at most has 2 years remaining, less if he cheats his way to a win in two weeks. Belichick is leaving with him because he has seen Jimmy Crappola in action and wants no part of it
2. Of your two heroes, Dick Lebeau will be 78 years old next season which would put him at 83 at the end of your 5 seasons. Chan Gailey is a relative "yoot" only in his mid 60s but has out of football for two seasons.
Why not wait at least until we actually have a Coaching staff in.place before declaring it a failure. What ya say...
I did not declare Bowles and his staff a failure. You did. You have a habit of saying things and then saying I said them. (Going off topic with Eric Mangini, then blaming me for going off topic when I respond is a perfect example).
Where did you come up with the idea that Belichick won't be around for 5 years? Is this just wishful thinking, wishful conjecture? Because Brady is old?
As I said before, Lebeau is a legend and could out coach just about anyone in the league (and I suspect you know it too). If he's got 3 years in him, I'll take them. You can still hire Rodgers and have them both.
Belichick won 11 games with Matt Cassel. Without Brady, he'll devise a new way to win. He always does. It's as if he's taunting the rest of the league. You watch, he'll sign Bradford or some other accurate QB journeyman and go on another 10 year run. You and I (and the rest of the league apparently) can't understand how he wins so often and in so many ways with so many different players.
The way I understand you, you don't expect Bowles to out coach Belichick? You're just hoping he leaves the game?
Is that what it comes down to? Instead of matching up, taking on the challenge, you'd rather wait for him to leave? Is that it?
