So we ignore how that 1-15 team ( which was yes horrible ) but was turned around in 1 year , and this regime has a built in excuse for 1 or 2 wins ( if that ) for the coming season and who knows how long after that.....but this team is better off Hahahahahahahahahahahahahah

Huge difference - that team included a lot of veterans who were underachieving for both seasons. That was the case last year, but not in 2015. Plus, the franchise has decided to move forward with a youth movement.

So no, I do not believe this team will have a rebirth and go 9-7 next year. But I also think this team is in a far different place than the 1997 team was.

Fans like you are why the Jets have hardly ever actually done a rebuild.

How can they tear it down to build it back up when they get ridiculed by their own fans? Other teams are allowed to rebuild. Why not the Jets? Why do the Jets have to constantly be in that no-man's-land of mediocrity, of 6-10 to 9-7, never being good enough to be great but never being bad enough to actually get the franchise picks to rebuild?

Well, they have to be there to appease a national media who ridicules them at every turn, a local media who loves the Giants and loves piling on the Jets, and a fan base that whines and cries about how badly they want a title, but don't want to see the team go through the hard work necessary to build a championship foundation.

Since we're talking about the 1997 Jets, one of the reasons they were on their way to greater heights was because they had been awful in the years prior - not mediocre, not average, but awful. They had top 10 picks in 4 of the previous 5 drafts.

I'm not high on this signing, either. But I think it's more credible when it comes from someone who praises some moves and bashes others than someone who either gushes over everything the team does, or bashes everything the team does.
