Thats pretty pessimistic.
Listen, this all wouldn’t be that big of a deal if Zach was drafted in the 4th or 5th round, where he should have been drafted. Maybe even the 6th or 7th round. Being that the Jets screwed this up and drafted the kid where they did, the pressure is on to make this right.
If he was drafted in the 4th round or worse, he would be that developmental project that they wouldn’t have expected that much from and these mistake would be null in-void. That’s why I say they shouldn’t draft any QBs in the 1st through 4th rounds anymore because they are horrible at it and even worse at developing these QBs they’re expecting anything from.
Plus you have the fact that A-Rod got hurt and they weren’t anticipating that. They figured like most of us did that Zach wouldn’t see the field at all this year and he could just sit and learn. So here they are in this position where they really don’t know what to do. SMDH!

Though of course if he HAD been drafted in the fourth round or later he would likely have been released by now.
I've said this at home since Zach Wilson arrived on our shores: I fucking hate his kewpie doll face. It's like he's locked in a perpetual stunned look expression. Should have dumped this kid after last season. Now JD looks like an even bigger incompetent clod. Just too cowardly to do what needed to get done. Like holding onto Darnold, another year down the tubes. Eat me, fatso.
And that’s exactly what I’m talking about. He would be gone at this point or wouldn’t have been starting period. He’d be on the practice squad now and we have another veteran playing right now. Or if Zach was playing and played like he is now, he’d be gone!
The guy drafted with the next pick was traded. Some organizations get it.
The more they persist with Zach the more of JD and Saleh's chips are piled up on the table and the more reluctant they are to fold. Keeping him as a backup behind Rodgers was always a face saver, he was as likely to learn about strategy that way as Frederick the Great's mule. So they didn't get a competent backup and the chickens came home to roost sooner than anyone thought possible.
And I'm still not saying a new QB is a cure-all for the offense.
Do you think that the Niners are regretting their decision with the way Purdy is playing lately.

Nope because Lance sucks. They have nothing invested in Purdy. Can dump and draft a new QB next year. We need to dump Zach ASAP. Bench Zach and it will be like when the Raiders fired McDaniels.
