(HOPEFULLY) the new HC next year and JD has a difficult decision to make at QB!

I posted this on the “Fire Gase Immediately” thread but I figured it needed its own thread because it will be heavily discussed all year long and this off-season.

So hopefully Gase gets fired at the end of the season and the Jets hire the right guy for the job. Problem is, the new HC and JD, has a decision to make. Do they stick with Sam or draft Lawrence? We will no doubt have the number #1 pick this year. They will have to decide has Sam had a fair shake at showing what he can do and become or does he need another 2-3 years to show himself?

Sam was drafted under Bowles, a defensive minded HC and his offensive coordinator and QB coach was horrid. Plus Darnold had a horrid oline and offensive skilled players around him. Years 2-3 he’s under Gase, who is supposed to be QB and offensive genius but proving he’s horrid also. The team is currently in a total rebuild with five new offensive linemen. I believe this is Darnold’s 3-4 offensive coordinator in three years.

So what will they do this off season, realize that Sam needs more time and he could possibly be the right guy under better guidance and a better team or cut bait and start over at QB?

I feel like the Jets have ruined another QB. I also feel like they will ruin the next one too. I want to believe on JD, but I'm 50/50 on him which is more than any other GM.

I personally believe Sam needs more time and under the right guidance and team he will be our guy but your right TCT, this team probably has ruined Darnold and will do the same to the next QB. I’m also 50/50 on JD and Gase has gotta go. It’s SO FREAKING OBVIOUS!

remember Tannehill didn't reach his potential until after Gase... So hopefully Sam will as well...

JD did a good job so far - he drafted 2 linemen and a wr - We all new this team talent wise is a joke. This is a multi-year rebuild thatt JD just started this year. Mac killed this team, Idzik killed this team, Mike T killed this team.....We have not had solid drafts since before 2009. Cant lay this at his feet.

Gase - yes blame him for being a crazy eyed loser with no coaching ability
Mac - blame him for mortgaging the world to get a QB with talent and not building a team for him to play on
Bowles - blame him for not being a HC
Idzik - blame him for not knowing how to be a GM
Mike T blame him for going mortgaging the future with no results after 2010

He also drafted a QB in the 4th. He should have drafted another WR. I think he will be the best GM the Jets have had, but that's not saying much.

TCT I can't get a beat on our GM. I half like him & I have don't understand him. I know you can't do it all in a year but I don't see any glue on the shelf.

Its just hard because this team was a mess when he joined and our idiot owner hired him after a draft

Not apologizing for the Jets yesterday but, I rewatched the game and all of the warts were there. Missed throws, dropped passes, no running game. The D missing tackles and sacks, too much cushion on the WRers. Break Cashman getting hurt after 3 F in plays( although Lango #44) played his ass off.
Special teams giving up too many yards on returns.
With all of that the game was 21-10 into the 4th qtr. That Herndon fumble, I think should’ve been overturned.
The Jets aren’t as bad as they looked yesterday.
Although, facing the 9ers Sunday could also be an ugly game.

I agree it all starts at the top. Owners are useless fucks!! JD is the best GM we have had in a long time, but he still has made a few glaring mistakes. Perriman instead of Robby. Not drafting another WR. Wasting a pick on QB. Adams trade was genius if he makes right picks.

And I thought I was a sadist for rewatching the 86' Browns playoff game every few years .

I'll even throw in my rewatching the 81' Bills wild card game , which I was at ,for more self inflicted punishment. Now and then .

But that game yesterday ? Why??

No need to answer , I get it . I uesed to tape every game so I could watch them when I came home from the stadium.

It's a sickness
