lol! I've been watching DirecTV's coverage of the event. They have a dedicated mix channel that feeds Accuweather & Weather channel and then cycles CNN, Fox, & other major brand news outlets that are covering Flo. The last channel in the mix is just local news outlets in NC/SC & it cycles between them all. Anyway, 1 of these local channels was at the desk & announced they had some critical news alert & they broke away to live coverage. It was a team watching a flooded stretch of road next to a river. They broke away to this live feed because a truck was crossing the road. All the channels have been pushing the "Turn around - Don't drown" deal. As the broadcast started they were saying how they had covered a semi truck crossing the road earlier & it was dangerous etc. This new truck was clearly there to get on TV. I would stop every 25ft or so & the reporter would go on about - Oh I hope they don't need rescue as those crews are so busy. Then it would drive again & the reporter would say - Oh they appear to be moving again. Then it would stop... LOL. I thought to myself - the media have no idea... Hell - it was there very presence there that precipitated the event. You could tell it was one of those - Hey 'hold my beer & watch this' redneck - hillbilly moves to get on TV... I am biased as I am surrounded by these types.
