By the time I got there, Mohawk Mall was dying - if not dead. Don't recall any arcades that were there at that point, that was the late eighties though.

Sounds like we run on some if the same ground & visited some if the same bars. I lived just on lower union - the stockade they call it, not a bad area. I liked it there.

Lower union was a real tough area in the 80's & 90's. Not as bad as the hill, but still a tough neighborhood. I used to patrol it nightly. Street corners were alive in those days.

Ah yeah, u know. When I first moved there I lived in a dump on the road that runs from 890 past the jail, bottom of the hill, past what was the White Castle & had all the hotels on it - Days inn, etc. I was there less than a week when my Red Yamaha Razz Scooter was stolen & then destroyed by the "Hill Folk". Welcome to Schenectady!

Hill folk would steal everything that wasn't bolted down. When I was younger I had 2 Bicycles stolen and my first car was stolen but it was luckily later recovered.

Yup... I do miss some things about it though but if I was there - I'd just say I miss some parts of rural life... Grass is always greener...
